OZONATION OF ANTHRAQUINONES

open access: yesSen'i Gakkaishi, 1984
Substituent effect on the ozonation of anthraquinones was discussed. Reactivity of anthraquinones with ozone increased as greater was the electron donative property of the substituent. When the unsymmetrical anthraquinones were ozonized, the remarkable selectivity of ozone attack on the both aromatic rings was observed.

Pulsed‐Laser Ablation for the Synthesis of High‐Entropy Alloy Aerogels Toward H2O2 Production and Water Decolorization

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, EarlyView.
This work establishes a universal strategy for fabricating compositionally complex solid solution alloy aerogels via pulsed‐laser ablation and the sol‐gel process. The electrocatalytic capabilities of these aerogels are subsequently evaluated for H2O2 electrosynthesis and water treatment applications.

Redox‐Targeting Reactions of Viologen‐Based Shuttles and Polymers Translated From Nonaqueous to Aqueous Electrolyte

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
. ABSTRACT Redox‐targeting flow batteries (RTFBs) present an attractive strategy for enhancing the energy density of conventional redox flow batteries (RFBs) by integrating heterogeneous energy storage materials as capacity boosters. However, nearly all RTFB systems have been developed with nonaqueous redox chemistries, while capacity boosters in ...

Synthesis and Optical Properties of Diboron Complexes of 1,4‐Anthraquinone Derivatives

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
1,4‐Diboron complexes exhibit near‐infrared fluorescence, in contrast to non‐emissive 1,5‐diboron analogues. Fluorescence quantum yields decrease with increasing electron‐donating substituents, attributed to enhanced nonradiative decay via intramolecular PeT.

Organelle‐Resolved Tetrazine‐trans‐Cyclooctene Click Chemistry for Cargo Delivery and Release

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
Bioorthogonal click chemistry tools provide a means for specific intracellular conjugation of molecules. In this study, we used reactive tetrazine (Tz) and TCO moieties for labeling of organelles and organelle‐specific delivery and activation of doxorubicin prodrugs.

Constituents from Moghat, the Roots of Glossostemon bruguieri (Desf.)

open access: yesMolecules, 2003
The new biflavone moghatin (3″′-hydroxycupressuflavone) was isolated from Moghat, the dried peeled roots of Glossostemon bruguieri (Desf.), together with five known compounds: 4′-methoxyisoscutellargin, sesamin, chrysophanol, emodin and ...

Anthracene and Anthraquinone [PDF]

open access: yesNature, 1921
THE history of anthracene is long and vivid. Discovered amongst the products of coal-tar distillation in 1832, the hydrocarbon played a modest and somewhat commonplace part in the development of structural theory, suddenly blossoming into prominence in 1868, when it was found that alizarin, the twin monarch with indigo of natural colouring matters, is ...

Characterization of the Interaction of Known G‐quadruplex Ligands With a Minimal i‐Motif Structure

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
The destabilization of a minimal i‐Motif (iM) structure by TMPyP4 is driven by ligand recognition of one terminal iM structural domain. ABSTRACT Peculiar genomic regions are prone to evolve transiently from double‐helix DNA to noncanonical secondary structures in response to physiological stress.
