Anthropomorphic Wooden Figures from the Trans-urals1

Abstract Anthropomorphic wooden figures found in peat-bogs east of the Urals are described. Their archaeological context, chronology, and stylistics are analyzed. The Uralian specimens are compared with those from Western and Eastern Europe. The possible meaning of these representations is reconstructed on the basis of Ob Ugrian rituals and mythology.

Материалы фракийского телля Юнаците исследуются и публикуются уже давно. Памятник имеет три пласта, нижний «В» принадлежит энеолиту. Следующий пласт «Б» образуют 16 горизонтов эпохи ранней бронзы. Верхний пласт «А» соответствует железному веку. Материалы пластов «А» и «Б» в основном опубликованы.
