Development of Cable-driven Anthropomorphic Robot Hand

IEEE Robotics and Automation Letters, 2021
This letter presents a novel design of an anthropomorphic robotic hand. By using a parallel plate knuckle with a universal joint, it is possible to achieve two degree of freedom (DOF) at a joint of a finger with wide working range in the proposed design.

Development of anthropomorphic robot hand SKK robot hand I

KSME International Journal, 2003
In this paper, a three-fingered anthropomorphic robot hand, called SKK Robot Hand I, is presented. By employing a two-DOF joint mechanism, called Double Active Universal Joint (abbreviated as DAUJ from now on) as its metacarpal joint, the hand makes it possible to mimic humanlike motions.

Quantifying anthropomorphism of robot hands

2013 IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation, 2013
In this paper a comparative analysis between the human and three robotic hands is conducted. A series of metrics are introduced to quantify anthropomorphism and assess robot's ability to mimic the human hand. In order to quantify anthropomorphism we choose to compare human and robot hands in two different levels: comparing finger phalanges workspaces ...

A new anthropomorphic robotic hand

Humanoids 2008 - 8th IEEE-RAS International Conference on Humanoid Robots, 2008
This paper presents the new robotic FRH-4 hand. The FRH-4 hand constitutes a new hybrid concept of an anthropomorphic five fingered hand and a three jaw robotic gripper. The hand has a humanoid appearance while maintaining the precision of a robotic gripper.

Modularly designed lightweight anthropomorphic robot hand

2006 IEEE International Conference on Multisensor Fusion and Integration for Intelligent Systems, 2006
In this paper, the modular design of artificial hands is presented. The modular concept shall be introduced based on the example of the artificial anthropomorphic hand prototype, which is part of the project for the development of a human assistive robot.

Anthropomorphic hand control for robotic hand-arm system

SMC 2000 Conference Proceedings. 2000 IEEE International Conference on Systems, Man and Cybernetics. 'Cybernetics Evolving to Systems, Humans, Organizations, and their Complex Interactions' (Cat. No.00CH37166), 2002
The aim of our research is to develop an anthropomorphic five-digit robotic hand and arm with a hand-arm cooperative control system. We define the human hand to compose an active 21 D.O.F. structure, having a 1-D.O.F. flexible palm, on the base of Kapandji's (1970) physiological study of the human hand.

Robot Operating System (ROS) controlled anthropomorphic robot hand [PDF]

open access: possible, 2022
This paper presents a new design of a dexterous robot hand by incorporating human hand factors. The robotic hand is a Robot Operating System (ROS) controlled standalone unit that can perform key tasks and work independently. Hardware such as actuators, electronics, sensors, pulleys etc. are embedded within or on the hand itself.

An assistive tele-operated anthropomorphic robot hand

Proceedings of the 6th international conference on Human-robot interaction, 2011
This paper presents an anthropomorphic robot hand called Osaka-City-University-Hand II, which is an improved version of Osaka-City-University-Hand I. The cosmetic and the function of our proposed hand allow us to use the hand as a prosthetic hand in addition to as an open platform of robot hands for robotics research.
