Anti-CCP biosensors in rheumatoid arthritis
Clinica Chimica ActaBiosensors are unique analytical tools for the detection of biomarkers. Of these, autoantibodies against citrullinated proteins (ACPA) are useful for the differential diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis (RA). The autoantibodies may be detected by immunoassay technology using synthetic cyclic citrullinated peptides (CCP), ie, anti-CCP.

High positivity of anti-CCP antibodies in patients with Down syndrome
Clinical Rheumatology, 2007The aim of the present study was to evaluate the prevalence of anti-cyclic citrullinated peptide (CCP) antibodies in patients with Down's syndrome (DS) previously tested for IgM rheumatoid factor (RF) and to correlate the results with clinical findings.

Rheumatoid arthritis, Proteus, anti-CCP antibodies and Karl Popper
Autoimmunity Reviews, 2010Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a crippling joint disease affecting over 20 million people worldwide. The cause of RA is most probably linked to the triad of microbial trigger, genetic association and autoimmunity and can be explained using the philosophical method of Karl Popper or Popperian sequences.

Background: The detection of anti-cyclic citrullinated peptide (anti-CCP) IgG antibodies in blood is mainly used for the diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis. Falsely elevated anti-CCP IgG antibodies due to anti-streptavidin IgG antibodies were suspected in

Redefining the HLA and RA association: To be or not to be anti-CCP positive
Journal of Autoimmunity, 2005Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) is the most common chronic inflammatory joint disease. The overall prevalence is 1% and in people older than 60 it is more than 2%. RA has auto-immune features: auto-antibodies against the Fc part of IgG, so-called Rheumatoid Factor (RF) are found more often in RA patients and more recently RA-specific auto-antibodies directed

Anti-cyclic citrullinated peptide antibody (CCP-AB) are used for diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis (RA). It is still unknown if the extent of CCP-AB levels is useful to assess the disease activity or the individual follow-up as an individual activity parameter. We investigated 40 patients with a known RA who were positive for CCP-AB.

Clinical Utility of the Anti‐CCP Assay: Experiences with 700 Patients
Annals of the New York Academy of Sciences, 2005Abstract: Our objective was to determine the frequency of antibodies to cyclic citrullinated peptides (CCPs) in a series of patients with a variety of rheumatic diseases. Seven hundred consecutive serum samples from patients at an outpatient clinic were tested for the presence of rheumatoid factor (RF) and anti‐CCP.

Whither Autoimmunity: The Lessons of Anti-CCP and B cell Depletion
Clinical Reviews in Allergy & Immunology, 2007The most difficult component to understand in autoimmune disease has been the issue of causation. In contrast, there have been enormous gains in improved diagnostics as well as improved therapy. Indeed, the use of biologics have changed the profile of numerous autoimmune diseases. In this issue, we discuss two such aspects.

Anti-cyclic citrullinated peptide (anti-CCP) antibodies with brucellosis
Rheumatology International, 2013Anti-cyclic citrullinated peptide (anti-CCP) was positive in 11.5 % and rheumatoid factor was positive in 8.8 % of the patients with Brucella. After a comparative evaluation, we have found out that there was not a statistical significance concerning the anti-CCP levels between the patients with brucellosis and healthy control.

Rheumatoid Factor and Anti-CCP Titers in COVID-19
Infectious Disorders - Drug TargetsIntroduction: The mechanisms of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) remain not fully elucidated. The present study aimed to trace the presence of autoantibodies among COVID-19 patients and to determine the association between COVID-19 and these antibodies.
