Anti-citrullinated protein antibodies in the diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis (RA): diagnostic performance of automated anti-CCP-2 and anti-CCP-3 antibodies assays. [PDF]

open access: yesClin Rheumatol, 2017
This study compares the diagnostic performance of a second generation anti-cyclic citrullinated peptide antibody (CCP2) with a third generation anti-CCP antibodies assay (CCP3), as well as the combination of both tests. Serum samples of 127 patients were analyzed.

Anti‐CCP Antibody, a Marker for the Early Detection of Rheumatoid Arthritis

open access: yesAnnals of the New York Academy of Sciences, 2008
Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a common autoimmune disease characterized by chronic inflammation of synovial joints. In most cases this will lead to the formation of pannus tissue, ultimately leading to joint destruction. Early diagnosis, coupled with aggressive use of disease‐modifying antirheumatic drugs, has been shown to have a favorable effect on ...

Rheumatoid Arthritis and Coronary Artery Calcium Progression: A Case Cohort Analysis From ELSA‐Brasil

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective To investigate the association between rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and coronary artery calcium (CAC) prevalence, incidence, and progression over four years in adults without prior cardiovascular disease. Methods A case‐cohort study within the Brazilian Longitudinal Study of Adult Health (ELSA‐Brasil) included 585 participants (86 patients with ...

Clinical utility of anti-cyclic citrullinated peptid and rheumatoid factor in chronic hepatitis B virus infection

open access: yesIndian Journal of Rheumatology, 2018
Background: It is necessary to distinguish whether musculoskeletal symptoms are associated with rheumatic diseases or hepatitis virus infection. Rheumatoid factor (RF) and anti-cyclic citrullinated peptide (anti-CCP) may be detected in rheumatic diseases

Frailty Predicts Incident Osteoporotic Fractures in Veterans with Rheumatoid Arthritis

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is associated with an increased risk of frailty and osteoporosis, but the relationship between frailty and incident osteoporotic fractures in RA is underexplored. Methods Data were from the Veterans Affairs (VA) Rheumatoid Arthritis Registry. Frailty was measured using the VA Frailty Index (VAFI).

Factors related to seroconversion of anti-cyclic citrullinated peptide antibody after the onset of rheumatoid arthritis: a case-control study and systematic review

open access: yesImmunological Medicine
Anti-cyclic citrullinated peptide (CCP) antibodies typically present before rheumatoid arthritis (RA) but appear (seroconvert) after disease onset in some patients. This study analyzed factors related to anti-CCP seroconversion.

Clinical characteristics and concordance of anti‐MDA5 autoantibodies: A multicentre Australian study

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, Accepted Article.
Objectives In Australia, anti‐MDA5 antibodies are exclusively tested by line immunoblot assay (LIA). The clinical concordance of a LIA‐positive anti‐MDA5 result is unclear. We aimed to describe the clinical features and determine the clinical concordance of patients with anti‐MDA5 antibodies.

Anti-citrullinated protein antibodies are associated with osteopenia but not with pain at diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis: data from the BARFOT cohort

open access: yesArthritis Research & Therapy, 2019
Background Anti-citrullinated protein antibodies (ACPA) have been suggested to have a potential role in both bone loss and pain in rheumatoid arthritis (RA), based on studies in vitro and in animal models.

Microenvironmental Reprogramming by 3D Anisotropic Cardiac Extracellular Matrix Induces Nuclear Remodeling and Epigenetic Maturation of Chemically Induced Cardiomyocytes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A 3D anisotropic hydrogel derived from heart extracellular matrix guides cytoskeletal alignment and nuclear remodeling in reprogrammed cardiomyocyte‐like cells. This study reveals how matrix alignment modulates nuclear envelope dynamics and chromatin state, triggering transcriptional and functional maturation.

Performance of Anticyclic Citrullinated Peptide Antibodies versus Rheumatoid Factor in diagnosis of Rheumatoid Arthritis

open access: yesDiyala Journal of Medicine, 2019
The aim of this study was to evaluate the performance of anti-cyclic citrullinated peptide antibodies (anti-ccp) versus Rheumatoid Factor (RF) in the diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis in serum sample of patients with clinical manifestation of arthritis ...
