De-Novo anti-HLA Antibodies After Renal Transplantation: Prevalance and Risk Factors

open access: yesTurkish Journal of Nephrology, 2019
AIM: Development of de-novo anti-HLA antibodies in the post-transplant period might be the earliest finding of later chronic antibody mediated rejection.

Anti-HLA antibodies with complementary and synergistic interaction geometries promote classical complement activation on platelets. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
High titers of HLA antibodies are associated with platelet refractoriness, causing poor platelet increments after transfusions in a subset of patients with HLA antibodies.

Blood‐Based Biomarkers in Alzheimer's Disease: Advances in Detection Technologies and Clinical Applications

open access: yesAGING MEDICINE, EarlyView.
Blood‐based biomarkers are emerging as accessible tools for Alzheimer's disease screening, diagnosis, risk stratification, and longitudinal monitoring. This review summarizes major biomarkers, including Aβ42/Aβ40, phosphorylated tau species, NfL, GFAP, genetic risk markers, and exploratory inflammatory, synaptic, and proteomic candidates.

Anticuerpos contra células del trofoblasto en el primer trimestre del embarazo Antibodies against trophoblast cells in the first quarter of pregnancy

Biomimetic Nanomedicine for Aging‐Impaired Bone Regeneration: From Microenvironmental Dysfunction to Precision Therapeutics

open access: yesAdvanced NanoBiomed Research, EarlyView.
Aging disrupts the cellular, immune, vascular, and neural processes required for bone regeneration. This review connects these pathological barriers with biomimetic nanomedicine design, highlighting strategies for cellular rejuvenation, immune modulation, vascular regeneration, and neuro–bone coupling.

Minimal immune response after transplantation of a cryopreserved human amniotic membrane on the ocular surface

open access: yesMaterials Today Bio
Introduction: Human amniotic membrane (hAM) is considered to have low immunogenicity since Akle et al. reported no anti-HLA antibodies (Abs) in four volunteers after subcutaneous grafting of fresh hAM in 1981. But the sensitivity of the detection methods

Autoantibodies to Joint‐Related Peptides Are Associated With Onset of Rheumatoid Arthritis in Presymptomatic Seronegative Individuals

open access: yesArthritis &Rheumatology, EarlyView.
Objective To identify autoantibodies in presymptomatic individuals that associate with the onset of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and to distinguish early RA from osteoarthritis (OA), particularly in individuals lacking classic RA serologic markers. Methods We analyzed serum and plasma from three cohorts: presymptomatic individuals who later developed RA ...

High‐Resolution Deep Learning Dixon Magnetic Resonance Imaging of the Sacroiliac Joints Is Noninferior to Standard Magnetic Resonance Imaging in Patients With Suspected Axial Spondyloarthritis

open access: yesArthritis &Rheumatology, EarlyView.
Objective To compare the multisequence standard magnetic resonance imaging (sMRI) protocol of the sacroiliac joints with a single high‐resolution deep learning–reconstructed Dixon sequence (DL‐Dixon) in patients with suspected axial spondyloarthritis (axSpA). Methods Seventy‐six patients with chronic low back pain and suspected axSpA underwent clinical,
