Evaluation of Anti-Islanding Schemes Based on Nondetection Zone Concept
IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics, 2004This paper present a nondetection zone (NDZ) as a performance index to evaluate different anti-islanding schemes. The NDZ for three basic passive anti-islanding schemes: under/over voltage, under/over frequency, and phase jump are derived analytically and validated by simulation.

Dispersed generation in MV networks: Performance of anti-islanding protections
The growing development of Dispersed Generation drives to a novel management of distribution networks in order to take advantages of this new form of generation. In particular the DG determines different power flows along distribution feeders modifying voltage profiles and fault levels and introducing new issues in protection systems.

Reviewing of anti-islanding protection
2014 11th IEEE/IAS International Conference on Industry Applications, 2014Distributed generation (DG) has grown over the years mainly due to environmental issues. DG are many varieties and sizes. This article presents an approach to some of this techniques, pointing out their advantages and disadvantages. The arrival of these new generation sources allowed greater variety in sources of energy, however this brought problems ...

An Anti-islanding Protection for Inverters in Distributed Generation
IECON 2018 - 44th Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, 2018This paper presents a new anti-islanding protection (AIP) scheme for inverters in integration of distributed generation (DG) sources into the grid. The main advantage of this proposed AIP scheme is that it can be embedded into the control of DG inverters without a need of additional part in the hardware of the inverter and any change in the controller.

Synchrophasor-based anti-islanding detection
2013 IEEE Grenoble Conference, 2013During a loss-of-main or islanding situation, distributed generation units remain feeding a part of the electrical system without connection to the main power system. Although many islanding detection methods have been proposed in literature, and some of them are being used, there is currently no islanding detection technique that meets utilities ...

ANTI-ISLANDING SOLUTIONS IN LOW AND MEDIUM VOLTAGE
DYNA, 2020This paper presents the most representative solutions used in the detection of unintentional electric islands in electrical distribution grid. In addition, it analyzes the adoption of these methods by equipment manufacturers, both in distributed resources based on power inverters and in protections and systems for monitoring the state of the grid. This

A New Approach to Anti-Islanding: Deployment Examples
2018 IEEE/PES Transmission and Distribution Conference and Exposition (T&D), 2018Islanding of Distributed Energy Resources (DER) is a growing concern as penetration increases. In a companion paper entitled “A New Approach to Anti-islanding: Design, Installation and In-Service Experience”, the authors describe a protective concept, DG Permissive (DGP), that reliably detects and removes an island within the 2 second window prescribed

Anti-islanding accelerated by grid unbalance component
2015 9th International Conference on Power Electronics and ECCE Asia (ICPE-ECCE Asia), 2015In this paper, a method to detect islanding operation of distributed generator (DG) is proposed, which exploits frequency drift accelerated by grid unbalance component, namely negative sequence component of grid voltage. The negative sequence component could be added to the gain of frequency feedback loop in the conventional anti-islanding scheme.

An Anti-Islanding Method for Single-Phase Inverters Based on a Grid Voltage Sensorless Control
The detection of the islanding condition of a distributed generation (DG) system is crucial for safety reasons, as discussed in the IEEE standards and specifically required by some national codes.

A combined method for anti-islanding in PV inverters
2016 13th International Conference on Power Electronics (CIEP), 2016This paper presents a combined method to detect islanding conditions. The method combines two approaches in a two stage process, and is based on the injection of reactive current as a disturbance to detect islanding. In the first stage, the method tests the voltage rate of change and the frequency rate of change. Once an islanding situation is presumed
