Power Analysis of the AFD in Anti-Islanding Method

2010
As the grid-connected photovoltaic power conditioning systems(PVPCS) are installed in many residential areas, these have raised potential problems of network protection on electrical power system. One of the numerous problems is an Islanding phenomenon.

Anti-islanding today, successful islanding in the future

2010 63rd Annual Conference for Protective Relay Engineers, 2010
Distributed generation (DG) is gaining popularity in the United States and across the world. The Florida Public Service Commission recently passed rules encouraging the use of renewable resources. Integrating DG with the utility network poses challenges for anti-islanding schemes. These schemes detect islanding conditions and trip the DG. Fig.

Anti-islanding detection using Synchrophasors and Internet Protocol telecommunications

2011 2nd IEEE PES International Conference and Exhibition on Innovative Smart Grid Technologies, 2011
This paper presents a method of improving anti-islanding detection for distributed generation by application of a wide-area measurement system. Present anti-islanding solutions were developed when installed capacity of distributed generation was low. Issues such as nuisance tripping, cascade tripping and poor anti-islanding detection sensitivity common

Anti-islanding detector based on a robust PLL

2013 IEEE Energy Conversion Congress and Exposition, 2013
International Standards impose to Distributed Energy Resources, connected to the grid by an inverter, to detect an islanding condition within a suitable time interval. In this paper a Phase Locked Loop (PLL), based on a third-order prediction-correction filter, is proposed to implement an islanding detector with reduced detection time.

Investigation on Voltage Sags Caused by DG Anti-Islanding Protection

IEEE Transactions on Power Delivery, 2013
This paper investigates the voltage sag caused by distributed generation anti-islanding protection. This is a new power-quality concern associated with distributed generation expansion. Anti-islanding protection aims to disconnect distributed generators immediately after the opening of a recloser.

Impact of RE's Anti‐Islanding on Power System Oscillatory Stability

Electrical Engineering in Japan, 2016
SUMMARYAlthough computer simulation is certainly a powerful tool for power system stability assessment, manual analysis is more helpful for understanding mechanism of unstable phenomena. Among unstable phenomena, oscillatory stability must be the most complex one.

Anti-islanding modeling of grid-tied inverters

2014 International Power Electronics and Application Conference and Exposition, 2014
For grid-tied inverters, islanding occurs when the grid is disconnected but the inverters are still energizing the local loads. When the inverter output active and reactive power match the local loads, the inverter output voltage and frequency will keep the same values as before. Islanding poses a hazard to maintenance workers and equipment.

A Novel Method for Anti-Islanding using Reactive Power

INTELEC 05 - Twenty-Seventh International Telecommunications Conference, 2005
Since the islanding of the PV generation systems can cause a loss of lives and damage to equipments, it has to be avoided by a reliable detection system. In this paper, a novel anti-islanding method is presented. The PV generation system applied to the proposed method maintains the real average output power components of the system by MPPT control ...

Anti-Islanding Test Results for Multiple PV Inverter Operations

2015
Islanding phenomenon of Photovoltaic (PV) system should be prevented because it causes a safety problem to utility service personnel and power supply facilities. Until now, various anti-islanding methods have been proposed. However, these are mostly focus on the islanding prevention method for single PV system.

An improved method for anti-islanding by reactive power control

2005 International Conference on Electrical Machines and Systems, 2005
Recently, the study of the islanding phenomenon, which unfavorably maintains its operation even when the utility grid is removed, has led to the trend of utility interactive inverters in the photovoltaic generation system. In this paper, a novel anti-islanding method is presented.
