On the existence and uniqueness of (N,λ) $(N,\lambda )$-periodic solutions to a class of Volterra difference equations

open access: yesAdvances in Difference Equations, 2019
In this paper we introduce the class of (N,λ) $(N,\lambda )$-periodic vector-valued sequences and show several notable properties of this new class. This class includes periodic, anti-periodic, Bloch and unbounded sequences.

On algebraic multiplicity of (anti)periodic eigenvalues of Hill’s equations

open access: yesProceedings of the American Mathematical Society, 2018
We construct two explicit examples of Hill’s equations with complex-valued potentials such that the algebraic multiplicity of some (anti)periodic eigenvalue E E equals 1 + 2 p i 1+2p_{i} with p i

Calorons, instantons and constituent monopoles in SU(3) lattice gauge theory

open access: yes, 2003
We analyze the zero-modes of the Dirac operator in quenched SU(3) gauge configurations at non-zero temperature and compare periodic and anti-periodic temporal boundary conditions for the fermions.

Differential regulation of ZFAS1 splice variants by endoplasmic reticulum stress in hepatocyte cell lines

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
ZFAS1 is a lncRNA promoting cell proliferation and migration, exhibiting high expression in various cancers. It is conserved, widely expressed, and produces multiple splice variants with unclear roles. We identified several splice variants in hepatocyte models, and found that inhibiting or suppressing regulators of the unfolded protein response (PERK ...

A spatial periodicity of microstructural evolution and anti-indentation properties of wire-arc additive manufacturing 2Cr13 thin-wall part

open access: yesMaterials & Design, 2018
Based on cold metal transfer (CMT) welding, wire-arc additive manufacturing (WAAM) technology was adopted to manufacture 2Cr13 part. The spatial periodicity of the microstructural evolution and the anti-indentation properties was explored.

Study of the Finite Density State based on SU(2) Lattice QCD

open access: yes, 2002
We report our recent numerical studies on two-color QCD with Wilson fermions. First the phase structure of the system in (kappa,mu)-plane is analyzed by measuring Polyakov line, baryon number density, gluon energy density and Polyakov line susceptibility.

Dapagliflozin prevents methylglyoxal‐induced retinal cell death in ARPE‐19 cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Diabetic macular oedema is a diabetes complication of the eye, which may lead to permanent blindness. ARPE‐19 are human retinal cells used to study retinal diseases and potential therapeutics. Methylglyoxal is a compound increased in uncontrolled diabetes due to elevated blood glucose.

Anchorage‐independent and faster growth in clonal population from UV‐irradiated NER‐deficient cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
UV‐irradiated cells expressing a DDB2 mutant protein unable to interact with PCNA (DDB2PCNA‐) form clones able to grow without anchorage. Different experimental approaches reveal heterogeneity in cell cycle regulation and drug response within these clones, emphasizing the crucial role of the DDB2‐PCNA interaction in preventing cellular transformation ...

Solvability of boundary value problems for nonlinear functional difference equations

open access: yesLe Matematiche, 2010
Sufficient conditions for the existence of solutions of the periodic and anti-periodic boundary value problems for nonlinear functional difference equations are established, respectively.

PARP inhibitors induce a senescence phenotype in non‐small cell lung carcinoma cell lines

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Talazoparib is the most potent inducer of senescence among different PARP1 inhibitors in human NSCLC cells. In the absence of PARP, no senescence phenotype was observed, demonstrating that PARP1 is necessary for the induction of senescence by this inhibitor.
