Hybrid hollow-core polarization-maintaining fiber with high birefringence and wide single mode bandwidth

open access: yesResults in Physics, 2021
A novel hybrid hollow-core polarization-maintaining fiber is proposed by combining the photonic bandgap mechanism and anti-resonant effect. High birefringence can be achieved by introducing a pair of negative curvature anti-resonant layers into the air ...

Highly Birefringent and Low-Loss Hollow-Core Anti-Resonant Fiber Based on a Hybrid Guidance Mechanism

open access: yesPhotonics, 2023
A highly birefringent and low-loss hollow-core anti-resonant fiber (HC-ARF) based on a hybrid guidance mechanism is proposed and investigated by using a finite element method.

Artificial intelligence designer for optical Fibers: Inverse design of a Hollow-Core Anti-Resonant fiber based on a tandem neural network

open access: yesResults in Physics, 2023
In this work, artificial intelligence (AI) is trained to “study” optical fibers as an AI optical fiber scientist. The dataset is constructed on the structural parameters and confinement loss of hollow-core anti-resonant fibers and is divided into ...

Comparison of Fluidic and Non-Fluidic Surface Plasmon Resonance Biosensor Variants for Angular and Intensity Modulation Measurements

open access: yesSensors, 2023
Fluidic and non-fluidic surface plasmon resonance measurements were realized for the same type of sensory layer and using the same mouse IgG antibody and anti-mouse IgG antibody biomolecular system.

High birefringence single-polarization composite structured anti-resonant fiber

open access: yesResults in Physics, 2023
We propose a highly birefringent, single-polarization composite structured anti-resonant fiber (CS-ARF). The proposed CS-ARF has an elliptical core, two symmetrically spaced arrays of elliptical air holes, and a six-tube anti-resonant structure.

Investigation of a Multi-Layer Absorber Exhibiting the Broadband and High Absorptivity in Red Light and Near-Infrared Region

open access: yesNanomaterials, 2023
In this study, an absorber with the characteristics of high absorptivity and ultra-wideband (UWB), which was ranged from the visible light range and near-infrared band, was designed and numerically analyzed using COMSOL Multiphysics® simulation software (

Hybrid structure polarization-maintaining hollow-core photonic bandgap fiber with anti-resonant tubes and silicon layers

open access: yesOptics Express, 2022
A novel-hybrid structure polarization-maintaining 19-cell hollow-core photonic bandgap fiber (HC-PBGF) is proposed. Robust single-mode characteristic is achieved by introducing six anti-resonant tubes into the core of 19-cell HC-PBGF. A high birefringence at the level of 10−3 is achieved by adding silicon layers into the y-direction tubes.

Large mode area double-layer all-solid anti-resonant fiber for high-power fiber lasers

open access: yesResults in Physics, 2021
A novel double-layer all-solid anti-resonant fiber (DL-AAF) is proposed to develop large mode area (LMA) fiber for high-power fiber laser applications. Single-mode property and mode field area scaling are investigated in simulations. Numerical results show the fiber can achieve strong suppression of higher order modes (HOMs) even with a large core size.
