Constructing fluorine-doped Zr-MOF films on titanium for antibacteria, anti-inflammation, and osteogenesis

Biomaterials Advances, 2022
Implant infection, undesirable inflammation, and poor osseointegration are the primary reasons for implant failure, so it is pivotal to endow bone implants with antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and osteogenic properties. Here, a multifunctional fluorine-doped zirconium-metal organic framework (Zr-MOF) film was constructed on the titanium to modify its

Bacterial Cellulose‐Based Bandages with Integrated Antibacteria and Electrical Stimulation for Advanced Wound Management

Advanced Healthcare Materials, 2023
AbstractBandages for daily wounds are the most common medical supplies, but there are still ingrained defects in their appearance, comfort, functions, as well as environmental pollution. Here, novel bandages based on bacterial cellulose (BC) membrane for wound monitoring and advanced wound management are developed.

Functional liquid-infused PDMS sponge-based catheter with antithrombosis, antibacteria, and anti-inflammatory properties

Colloids and Surfaces B: Biointerfaces, 2023
A functional liquid-infused catheter surface strategy has recently attracted increasing attention for blood transport with the remarkable antibiofouling performance. Nevertheless, constructing porous structure inside a catheter with effective functional liquid-locking ability remains extremely challenging.

Antiliquid-Interfering, Antibacteria, and Adhesive Wearable Strain Sensor Based on Superhydrophobic and Conductive Composite Hydrogel

ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces, 2021
Conductive hydrogels are promising multifunctional materials for wearable sensors, but their practical applications require combined properties that are difficult to achieve. Herein, we developed a flexible wearable sensor with double-layer structure based on conductive composite hydrogel, which included the outer layer of silicone elastomer (Ecoflex ...

Antibacteria and Detoxification Function of Polystyrene/TiO2Nanocomposites

Journal of Dispersion Science and Technology, 2007
The composites of TiO2 nanoparticles (anatase structure, average particle size 20–30 nm) as inorganic particle additive in the polystyrene (PS) were prepared by co‐rotating twin screw extruder. The structure and morphology of the composites were determined by scanning electron microscope (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and x‐ray ...

Schiff base synergized with protonation of PEI to achieve smart antibacteria of nanocellulose packaging films

Carbohydrate Polymers, 2023
Microbial growth and reproduction can cause food spoilage. Developing the controlled release packaging films for food is an ideal solution. In this study, polyethyleneimine (PEI) was grafted to cellulose nanofibers (CNF) films by Schiff base, and when the CNF/PEI films were stimulated by pH, PEI released from the CNF/PEI films due to Schiff base ...

Mg-Fe LDH sealed PEO coating on magnesium for biodegradation control, antibacteria and osteogenesis

Journal of Materials Science & Technology, 2022
Abstract Attempt of developing bio-safety and functional layered double hydroxides (LDHs) modified plasma electrolytic oxidation (PEO) coatings, has become a hotspot in the protection of magnesium (Mg) based biomedical implants. In the present work, Mg-Fe LDH films with different Fe contents were fabricated on PEO coating via a novel two-step method:

Effects of annealing on antiwear and antibacteria behaviors of TaN–Cu nanocomposite thin films

Journal of Vacuum Science & Technology A: Vacuum, Surfaces, and Films, 2008
TaN–Cu nanocomposite films were deposited by reactive cosputtering on Si and tool steel substrates. The films were then annealed using rapid thermal annealing (RTA) at 400°C for 2, 4, and 8min, respectively, to induce the nucleation and growth of Cu particles in TaN matrix and on film surface.

Poly(Photosensitizer-Prodrug) Unimolecular Micelles for Chemo-Photodynamic Synergistic Therapy of Antitumor and Antibacteria

Langmuir
It is crucial to use simple methods to prepare stable polymeric micelles with multiple functions for cancer treatment. Herein, via a "bottom-up" strategy, we reported the fabrication of β-CD-(PEOSMA-PCPTMA-PPEGMA)21 (βPECP) unimolecular micelles that could simultaneously treat tumors and bacteria with chemotherapy and photodynamic therapy (PDT).
