Antibacterial activity of human prostasomes
The Prostate, 2000Prostasomes are prostate-derived organelles in semen exhibiting pluripotent properties. The present study deals with their possible antibacterial effects.Antibacterial activity was assessed by growth inhibition of bacteria in an incubation medium containing prostasomes, after which the incubate was inoculated on cystine lactose electrolyte deficient ...

Antibacterial activity of Galeola foliata
Fitoterapia, 2004Galeola foliata leaves and stem bark were successively extracted with petrol, dichloromethane, ethyl acetate, butanol and methanol. A broad spectrum antibacterial activity (24 bacteria and protozoan) was exhibited by both parts. A very good level of activity was demonstrated by the CH2Cl2 and EtOAc fractions.

Antibacterial Activity of Mometasone Furoate
Archives of Otolaryngology–Head & Neck Surgery, 2008To test the antibacterial properties of the topical corticoid mometasone furoate, which is used as a nasal spray. The activity of mometasone (0.01%, 0.1%, and 0.5%) in buffer solution against Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Escherichia coli, Streptococcus pyogenes, and Streptococcus milleri was tested by quantitative killing assays. In ...

Antibacterial activity of Pterocarpus indicus
Fitoterapia, 2003The leaves, root and stem barks of Pterocarpus indicus were successively partitioned with petrol, dichloromethane, ethyl acetate, butanol and methanol. All the fractions exhibited a wide spectrum of antibacterial activity. The activity was more pronounced in the butanol and methanol fractions. None were active against the moulds.

Antibacterial activities of nitrothiazole derivatives
Journal of Antimicrobial Chemotherapy, 1984A new group of chemical agents with pronounced antibacterial activities is presented. Different nitrothiazole derivatives, but not all, exhibit antibacterial activities similar to that of niridazole (AmbilharR), a nitrothiazolyl-imidazolidinone. Certain aerobic bacteria are moderately susceptible to these agents.

Antibacterial activity of Punica granatum
Fitoterapia, 2001Successive petroleum ether, chloroform, methanol and water extracts of Punica granatum were tested (in vitro) for their antibacterial activity. The methanolic extract was found to be most effective against all tested microorganisms.
