Non-Specific antibodies in amebiasis

Experimental Parasitology, 1961
Abstract A factor produced by Clostridium welchii grown on egg or serum media reacts with sera from cases of amebiasis when examined by the gel-diffusion technic. This antibody was revealed in 100% of liver-abscess cases, 69% of cases of acute amebic dysentery, and 60% of non-amebic dysentery cases.

On the structure of a specific antibody site

Journal of Theoretical Biology, 1963
Abstract The specific combining region of an antibody molecule has been assumed to be a fixed property of the molecule. However, this assumption is unlikely if the antigen plays an instructive role in antibody formation. A simpler model of the specific site must be considered.
