Identification of a microRNA encoded by Anticarsia gemmatalis multiple nucleopolyhedrovirus

Computational Biology and Chemistry, 2020
MicroRNAs are regulatory RNAs that are scarcely described in Baculoviruses. In this work we predicted a microRNA in silico, denominated agmnpv-miR-4, encoded in the genome of Anticarsia gemmatalis Nucleopolyhedrovirus (AgMNPV), which is homologous to the already validated bmnpv-miR-4 from Bombyx mori Nucleopolyhedrovirus (BmNPV).

Transcriptional Analysis of Microsatellites in Velvetbean Caterpillar Anticarsia gemmatalis Hübner, 1818

Cytogenetic and Genome Research, 2022
Brazil is the largest producer of soybeans in the world. The vast extent of soybean plantations across the Brazilian territory exposes this crop to attack by several insects, including the velvetbean caterpillar, Anticarsia gemmatalis. One of the alternatives used to control this insect are the toxins produced by Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt).

Pathology of Anticarsia gemmatalis larvae infected by two recombinant A. gemmatalis multicapsid nucleopolyhedroviruses

Research in Microbiology, 2005
Light and stereomicroscopy examinations of Anticarsia gemmatalis multicapsid nucleopolyhedrovirus (AgMNPV)-infected insects were performed in order to follow infection in its host, A. gemmatalis. Fourth-instar A. gemmatalis larvae were infected by administration of occluded virus (polyhedra) from two recombinant AgMNPV viruses (vAgEGTDelta-lacZ or ...

Are Chemical Compounds Important for Soybean Resistance to Anticarsia gemmatalis?

Journal of Chemical Ecology, 2005
The identification and quantification of flavonoids (rutin and genistin) present in extracts of soybean genotypes, and their effects on the biology and physiology of Anticarsia gemmatalis Hübner (Lep.: Noctuidae) were studied. Analysis of covariance and bicoordinate utilization plots were used to remove the effect of feeding time from pupal weight and ...

Structural and ultrastructural alterations of Malpighian tubules of Anticarsia gemmatalis (Hübner) (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae) larvae infected with different Anticarsia gemmatalis multiple nucleopolyhedrovirus (AgMNPV) recombinant viruses

Journal of Invertebrate Pathology, 2008
Malpighian tubules constitute the main excretion organ of insects. Infection by egt(-) recombinant AcMNPV baculovirus in lepidopteran larvae promotes early degeneration of these structures, which has been correlated with earlier death of the host. However, no trace of viral infection has been detected in that tissue.
