Few indirect effects of baculovirus on parasitoids demonstrate high compatibility of biocontrol methods against Tuta absoluta

open access: yesPest Management Science, Volume 79, Issue 4, Page 1431-1441, April 2023., 2023
Baculoviruses are used for pest control in agroecosystems, where parasitoids are present. We assessed whether parasitoids discriminate against virus‐infected hosts and examined the effect of the virus on parasitoid offspring. We found few indirect effects of the virus on the parasitoids, indicating that both agents can be combined.

Improvement of Soybean Crop for Yield, Stress Tolerance, and Value‐Added Products Using a Transgenic Approach

open access: yesAdvances in Agriculture, Volume 2023, Issue 1, 2023., 2023
Soybean (Glycine max) is an economically important crop, ranking first among the edible oilseed crops in the world due to its oil content and nutritional value. Besides, it is used as a dietary supplement and a source of pharmaceuticals. The recent rapid climate changes and increasing global population have led to increasing demand for vegetable oil ...

Phytophagous mite performance on intact plants and leaf discs with different defence levels

open access: yesEntomologia Experimentalis et Applicata, Volume 170, Issue 11, Page 941-947, November 2022., 2022
Herbivore performance bioassays are usually done on intact plants or on detached plant parts. As mechanical wounding may change plant quality in detached parts, possibly inducing plant defences, we compared the performance of a phytophagous mite on intact tomato plants vs. leaf discs.

Resource limitation has a limited impact on the outcome of virus–fungus co‐infection in an insect host

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 12, Issue 3, March 2022., 2022
Little is known about how variation in host resource quantity affects pathogen co‐infections. Here, we show that changes in dietary quantity do not alter mortality in mixed pathogen infections in an insect host. However, a virus and a fungus did respond differently to changes in host nutritional status through subtle changes in duration of infection ...

CAPACIDADE DE DISPERSÃO DE Trichogramma pretiosum Riley, 1879 PARA O CONTROLE DE Anticarsia gemmatalis Hübner, 1818 EM SOJA

open access: yesScientia Agricola, 1998
Avaliou-se a capacidade de dispersão de Trichogramma pretiosum, Riley 1879, em relação a ovos de Anticarsia gemmatalis, Hübner 1818, na cultura da soja, em Piracicaba, São Paulo.

Progress in soybean functional genomics over the past decade

open access: yesPlant Biotechnology Journal, Volume 20, Issue 2, Page 256-282, February 2022., 2022
Summary Soybean is one of the most important oilseed and fodder crops. Benefiting from the efforts of soybean breeders and the development of breeding technology, large number of germplasm has been generated over the last 100 years. Nevertheless, soybean breeding needs to be accelerated to meet the needs of a growing world population, to promote ...

Virulência de conídios armazenados do fungo Nomuraea rileyi à lagarta da soja, Anticarsia gemmatalis Virulence of stored conidia of Nomuraea rileyi fungi against soybean caterpillar, Anticarsia gemmatalis

Evidence of Rapid Evolution in Herbivory Defense Responses With Conserved Trade-Offs in Populations of Medicago polymorpha. [PDF]

open access: yesEcol Evol
This study uses a historical invasion by Medicago polymorpha (Burr Clover) to test the predictive power of the Shifting Defense Hypothesis (SDH) by investigating variation in plant defenses to herbivorous insects. We compared the feeding preferences of a generalist and a specialist herbivore on native and invasive populations of M.

Reprodução de Trichospilus diatraeae Cherian & Margabandhu (Hymenoptera: Eulophidae) em Pupas de Anticarsia gemmatalis Hübner (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae) em Relação à Idade do Parasitóide e Hospedeiro

open access: yesEntomoBrasilis, 2012

open access: yesScientia Agricola, 2000
