Spinally mediated opioid antidiarrheal effects

European Journal of Pharmacology, 1991
To assess the role of opioid receptors in the spinal cord in regulation of functions of the intestinal mucosa in a secretory model, we evaluated the ability of i.t. administered mu (PL017), delta (DPDPE) and kappa (U50,488H) selective opioid agonists to inhibit diarrhea produced in mice by an injection of prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) (200 micrograms/mouse ...

[The behavior of antidiarrheal drugs in experiments].

Microscopica acta, 1983
Four antidiarrheal drugs (China clay, bentonite, pectin, Kaoprompt H) are fed to mice by a gastric probe. Eight hours later, samples are taken from small intestine and colon to study the behaviour of the drugs in the gut. Any interactions with the brushborder of the villi at best are possible in the case of pectin.

Di 1 jun yi da xue xue bao = Academic journal of the first medical college of PLA, 2004
To investigate the antidiarrheal mechanism of quercetin extracted from Psidium guajava L.The effects of quercetin on the contractility of guinea pig ileum in vitro and on the peristaltic motion of mouse small intestine in vivo were observed, and the peak value of contractility and peristaltic distance recorded. The inhibitory effect of quercetin on the
