Multiferroics are materials crucial for energy-efficient scalable electronics. The implementation of an effective combination of ferroic orderings on the nanoscale requires the design of new multiferroic materials.

Antiferromagnetic interactions and the superconducting gap function [PDF]
Spin-fluctuation-mediated superconductivity is conventionally associated with d_{x^2-y^2} pairing. We show that a generalized model of antiferromagnetic spin fluctuations in three dimensions may also yield a state with formal ``s-wave'' (A_{1g}) symmetry but with line nodes at k_z \approx \pm π/ 2c.

The interaction between antiferromagnetic magnons and electrons sits at the heart of many strongly correlated systems, however, investigation has been hampered by a lack of clear-cut examples.

Binuclear Nickel Complexes of a New Di(hydroxyphenyl)imidazolate
Here, we report a new di(hydroxyphenyl)imidazolate ligand with an N2O2 donor set synthesized by a modified Debus–Radziszewski procedure. Its binuclear nickel(II) complexes feature a weak antiferromagnetic interaction with J12 = −3.16 cm−1 between the two

Antiferromagnetic interactions in Nd6Fe12Ga2-based compounds [PDF]
Abstract It has been reported that antiferromagnetic coupling may exist between light-rare-earth and transition-metal ions in Nd 6 Fe 11 Ga 3 -type of compounds. In the present paper, the magnetic properties of Nd 6- x La x Fe 12 Ga 2 compounds with x = 0,1,2,3 have been studied by measuring the free-powder high-field magnetization at 4.2 K and

The complexity of antiferromagnetic interactions and 2D lattices [PDF]
Estimation of the minimum eigenvalue of a quantum Hamiltonian can be formalised as the Local Hamiltonian problem. We study the natural special case of the Local Hamiltonian problem where the same 2-local interaction, with differing weights, is applied across each pair of qubits.
