Interaction between ferromagnetic/antiferromagnetic systems across a common antiferromagnetic spacer

Journal of Applied Physics, 2003
Many aspects of exchange bias between antiferromagnets and ferromagnets remain unclear despite substantial recent research. A principal outstanding issue is the relationship between exchange bias and enhanced coercivity in the ferromagnetic layer. Using a trilayer ferromagnet/antiferromagnet/ferromagnet structure deposited and measured under specific ...

Thermodynamic properties of dilute antiferromagnets with mixed ferro- and antiferromagnetic interactions

Physica A: Statistical Mechanics and its Applications, 1982
Abstract A cumulant expansion is used to examine some thermodynamic properties of dilute, antiferromagnetic spin- 1 2 system with two distinct exchange interactions. The averaged magnetic moment, transition temperature, susceptibility, specific heat and entropy are discussed for various crystallographical structures and various forms of ...

Investigation of the hyperfine interaction in the antiferromagnetic CsMnI3

Journal of Experimental and Theoretical Physics, 1997
The lower branch of the resonance spectrum of the quasi-one-dimensional triangular antiferromagnetic CsMnI3 has been investigated experimentally. This branch possesses a gap due to the dynamic hyperfine interaction. The temperature dependence of the energy gap was studied in detail at several frequencies.

Theory of the magnetoelastic interaction in orthorhombic antiferromagnets

Soviet Journal of Low Temperature Physics, 1980
We have studied theoretically the magnetoelastic interaction in biaxial antiferromagnetic crystals. We have considered the coupled magnetoelastic modes in fields exceeding the spin-flip field for the sublattices. Expressions are obtained for the magnetic field dependences of the sound velocities.

Possible antiferromagnetic interactions in NdRh3B2 and CeRh3B2

Solid State Communications, 1987
Abstract The magnetic phase transition and spin arrangement in the ordered phase of NdRh3B2 and CeRh3B2 have been studied by measurements of magnetic susceptibility and heat capacity of the isostructural compounds RRh3B2 (R: La, Ce, Nd, Gd). The existence of small antiferromagnetic interactions between R ions (R = Nd, Ce) on the neighbouring ...

Interaction of Antiferromagnetic Spin Waves with a Bloch Wall

Physical Review, 1962
The interaction of an antiferromagnetic spin wave with a 180\ifmmode^\circ\else\textdegree\fi{} Bloch wall is studied from the theoretical point of view. Our formulation includes the anisotropy and exchange energies of the crystal together with the characteristics of the wall such as its stiffness and viscosity.

Pseudodipole interaction in exchange-frustrated antiferromagnets

JETP Letters, 1998
It is shown that the pseudodipole interaction explains the experimentally observed noncollinear magnetic structure of the compounds U2Pd2X (X=In, Sn) and PrBa2Cu3O6+x , which consist of two spin subsystems which are noninteracting in the mean-field approximation if there is only isotropic exchange between them.

Exchange interactions in antiferromagnetic complex perovskites

Journal of Physics and Chemistry of Solids, 1999
Magnetic interactions between Ni2+ spins in ordered complex perovskites, cubic Ba2NiWO6 and tetragonal Sr2NiWO6, have been investigated. Analysis of the spin-wave excitation spectrum has shown that the 90°-interaction is substantially small compared with 180°-interaction at low temperatures. The results have remarkable resemblance to NiO.
