Constant coupling approximation for antiferromagnets with mixed ferro- and antiferromagnetic interactions

Physica A: Statistical Mechanics and its Applications, 1975
The constant-coupling approximation is extended to an antiferromagnetic spin-12 system with two distinct anisotropic exchange interactions. The thermodynamic properties such as the transition temperature, magnetization, susceptibility and specific heat are discussed for three special cases: (i) ferro- and antiferromagnetic Ising interactions, (ii ...

Superconductivity from Antiferromagnetic Exchange Interactions

Physical Review Letters, 1987
It is shown that the effective antiferromagnetic exchange interaction associated with the Hubbard model of a metal can give rise to antiferromagnetism and superconductivity simultaneously. This is a suggested model for the newly discovered high-temperature superconductors.

Effects of magnetic interactions in antiferromagnetic ferrihydrite particles

Journal of Physics: Condensed Matter, 2009
The effects of magnetic interactions in the magnetic properties of six-line ferrihydrite particles were investigated by studying the behavior of aggregated versus coated particles. Four different coating agents (sugar, alginate, lactate and ascorbate) were employed in order to obtain dispersed particles and prevent particle agglomeration; one sub ...

Hyperfine interaction studies of antiferromagnetic order in CuO

Physical Review B, 1988
The hyperfine field, ${H}_{\mathrm{hf}}(T)$, in polycrystalline CuO has been studied by $^{57}\mathrm{Fe}$ M\"ossbauer-source spectroscopy (MS), ${\ensuremath{\mu}}_{+}$ spin rotation $\ensuremath{\mu}\mathrm{S}\mathrm{R}$, and $^{100}\mathrm{Rh}$ perturbed angular correlation (PAC) over $4\mathrm{K}lTl295\mathrm{K}$.

Magnetostatic Interactions in Antiferromagnetically Coupled Patterned Media

Journal of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, 2011
In an array of closely spaced magnetic islands as in patterned media, magnetostatic interactions play a major role in widening the switching field distribution and reducing the thermal stability. Patterned antiferromagnetically coupled (AFC) media provide interesting systems for studying the effect of magnetostatic interactions on the reversal of ...

Interactions of Magnons in the Six-Sublattice Antiferromagnet

physica status solidi (b), 1984
AbstractA microscopic model of the six‐sublattice antiferromagnet CsMnF3is considered. Spectra and three‐magnon amplitudes of the electronic and nuclear spin waves are calculated. It is shown that in the multisublattice model there are new processes of the low‐frequency spin‐wave interactions (parallel with other processes that take place in the two ...

Dipolar interactions in uniaxial antiferromagnets

Journal of Magnetism and Magnetic Materials, 1986
Abstract Antiferromagnets in a magnetic field are compared to a compressible Ising model with the local magnetisation taking the place of the strain. Dipolar interactions destabilise the fixed points. The size of the effect should be observable for DyPO 4 and DAG. The effects of dilution are also considered.

Phase-field crystal for an antiferromagnet with elastic interactions

Physical Review E, 2019
We introduce a model which contains the essential elements to formulate and study antiferromagnetism, using the phase-field crystal framework. We focus on the question of how magneto-elastic coupling could lift the frustration in the two-dimensional hexagonal antiferromagnetic phase.

Magnon BEC in Antiferromagnets with Suhl–Nakamura Interaction

Journal of Low Temperature Physics, 2014
From atomic physics one knows the phenomenon of Bose-Einstein condensation (BEC), where a macroscopic ensemble of particles occupy coherently a single state. Similar phenomena were observed for different types of quasiparticles in condensed matter. Here we present the results of investigations on the BEC of elementary magnetic excitations - magnons ...

Magnon-photon interaction in antiferromagnets

Physical Review B, 1979
The magnon-photon interaction is formulated for a direction of the magnetic vector of the electromagnetic wave perpendicular to the direction of the sublattice magnetization in an antiferromagnet, and from this the one-magnon self-energy is calculated.
