Alternative antifouling biocides [PDF]
In response to increasing scientific evidence on the toxicity and occurrence of organotin residues from antifouling paints in the aquatic environment, the use of triorganotin antifouling products was banned on boats of less than 25 m length in many countries during 1987.

Biofouling Effects on the Response of a Wave Measurement Buoy in Deep Water [PDF]
The effects of biofouling on a wave measurement buoy are examined using concurrent data collected with two Datawell Waveriders at Ocean Station P: one heavily biofouled at the end of a 26-month deployment, the other newly deployed and clean.

It has been demonstrated that, in the bone extracellular matrix (ECM), integrins and growth factor receptors (GFRs) engage in synergistic signaling to guide bone healing and regeneration. This review provides a comprehensive overview of current strategies using ECM‐derived peptides to recreate the cellular microenvironment and harness synergistic ...

Marine bacterial inhibitors from the sponge-derived fungus Aspergillus sp [PDF]
Chromatographic separation of a crude extract obtained from the fungus Aspergillus sp., isolated from the Mediterranean sponge Tethya aurantium, yielded a new tryptophan derived alkaloid, 34(1-hydroxy-3-(2methylbut-3-en-2-y1)-2-oxoindolin-3-yl)methyl)-1 ...

This work introduces a substrate‐independent, reagent‐free plasma strategy that forms radical‐rich interlayers for covalent hydrogel attachment without initiators or crosslinkers. The long‐lived radicals drive in situ gelation, creating robust, cytocompatible hybrid solid–hydrogel constructs across diverse substrates.

Ultraviolet-induced Surface Grafting of Octafluoropentyl Methacrylate on Polyether Ether Ketone for Inducing Antibiofilm Properties [PDF]
Since octafluoropentyl methacrylate is an antifouling polymer, surface modification of polyether ether ketone with octafluoropentyl methacrylate is a practical approach to obtaining anti-biofilm biocompatible devices.
