Insecticides outweigh rye cover crop in triggering secondary pest outbreaks

open access: yesPest Management Science, EarlyView.
Insecticides outweigh rye cover crop in triggering secondary pest outbreaks. Zeus Mateos‐Fierro*, Ashley Leach, Ian Kaplan. Spider mite and melon aphid outbreaks are enhanced with broad‐spectrum insecticides, while natural enemies are reduced. However, rye cover crop has little effect on either pest or natural enemy populations.

Silver‐selenium nanoparticles and selected chemical compounds significantly inhibit grapevine trunk disease pathogens

open access: yesPest Management Science, EarlyView.
A 2‐year in planta study confirmed antifungal activity of selected chemicals against GTD pathogens. Silver‐selenium nanoparticles inhibited D. eres and E. lata, but not D. seriata. Despite limited spectrum, they show promise as alternatives for targeted GTD control, with no phytotoxic effects observed.

Indirect plant defense may provide economically important pest suppression in sorghum

open access: yesPest Management Science, EarlyView.
Laboratory measures of sorghum direct and indirect plant resistance traits aligned with natural enemy recruitment and pest suppression in the field. Abstract BACKGROUND A promising strategy to optimize biological control of insect pests is selecting crop varieties with indirect defense traits.

Isavuconazole and Calcium Channel Blocker for Invasive Fungal Disease Accompanied With Hypertension: Evidence From the FAERS and PBPK/PD Model

open access: yesCPT: Pharmacometrics &Systems Pharmacology, EarlyView.
Safety assessment of ISA in combination with CCBs. Disproportionality analysis through the FAERS database showed that ISA was not associated with drug‐induced hypertension and DDI‐caused hypotension, whereas CCBs (nifedipine and amlodipine) were the most common co‐medications for hypotension occurring in combination with TADs.
