Specific selection of antigen-reactive lymphocytes into antigenically stimulated lymph nodes in sheep [PDF]
Sheep were primed to a variety of antigens and the efferent lymphatic from a popliteal lymph node was cannulated. The cannulated node was challenged repeatedly with PPD and all the lymph and cells removed from the animal.

The Carcinoembryonic Antigen Gene Family [PDF]
The molecular cloning of carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) and several cross-reacting antigens reveals a basic domain structure for the whole family, which shows structural similarities to the immunoglobulin superfamily.

A new modification of the chiron ACS assay for total prostate-specific antigen achieves equimolar response characteristics and improves the detection of prostate cancer [PDF]
Nonequimolar-response assays for prostate-specific antigen (PSA) are criticized for overestimating total PSA in some men without prostate cancer (PCA), and underestimating total PSA in some men with PCA.

Establishment of a Sandwich ELISA for Detection of Pan-Merbecoviruses
Merbecovirus, a subgenus of Betacoronavirus, includes MERS-CoV and multiple bat-derived viruses with zoonotic potential. Given the unpredictable emergence of these viruses and their genetic diversity, development of broad-spectrum diagnostic tools is ...

Lateral Flow Immunoassays for Detecting Viral Infectious Antigens and Antibodies
Abundant immunological assays currently exist for detecting pathogens and identifying infected individuals, making detection of diseases at early stages integral to preventing their spread, together with the consequent emergence of global health crises ...

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Prevalence of canine heartworm infection in Queensland, Australia: comparison of diagnostic methods and investigation of factors associated with reduction in antigen detection [PDF]
Background: The prevalence of Dirofilaria immitis infection in dogs is increasing globally and spreading into new areas. Prevalence of dirofilariosis in the state of Queensland, Australia, was as high as 90% before the introduction of macrocyclic ...
