Immunobiological properties of Yersinia pestis antigens

Russian Journal of Bioorganic Chemistry, 2011
The present review contains information concerning immunobiological properties of plague microbe antigens. All of the identified antigens are evaluated in relation to pathogenicity of Yersinia pestis namely a resistance to phagocytosis, toxicity, adhesiveness etc. as well as persistence ability and adaptation to variable environment.

Antigenic Properties of Purified Bovine Prothrombin

American Journal of Physiology-Legacy Content, 1956
Purified bovine prothrombin preparations were found to produce immune serum in rabbits. This immune serum possessed precipitating antibodies capable of specific reaction with these preparations. Prothrombin activity was removed coincidentally with specific precipitation. A second antigenic component was evident in these preparations.

Properties of Carcinoembryonic Antigens

1974
As important as this antigen seems to be, little is known about it. It can be detected by its capacity of inducing resistance against the transplanted tumor. The same antigen is probably responsible for several in-vitro reactions: cytotoxic reaction by serum or immune cells, inhibition of in-vivo growth and in-vitro growth in diffusion chambers, colony

Antigenic Properties of Mouse Lymphoma Cells

The Journal of Immunology, 1968
Summary The studies comprising this report show that lymphoma cells from AKR mice with spontaneously occurring disease as well as those with primary disease induced by virus have specific antigenicity. Evidence, albeit indirect, is presented to support the concept that the tumor antigens are related to specific change in antigenic ...

Physicochemical properties of kidney-specific antigen

Bulletin of Experimental Biology and Medicine, 1984
Using specific antirenal sera obtained from rabbits and absorbed with a mixture of extracts from heterologous organs, a specific antigen was detected in human and CBA mouse renal extracts. Its molecular weight was found to amount to about 100 000 dalton.

Antigenic Properties of Human Erythrocyte Glycophorins

1988
The name of glycophorin was given by Marchesi et al. (1972) to the major sialoglycophorin of human erythrocyte membranes, known earlier as the glycoprotein carrying blood group M and N determinants and receptors for agglutinins of influenza viruses (Baranowski et al., 1959; Romanowska 1959; Klenk & Uhlenbruck, 1960; Kathan et al., 1961; Springer et al.,

The antigenic properties of bacterial spores

Antonie van Leeuwenhoek, 1944
1°. Bacterial spores are antigenic. 2°. Spore-antigen is distinct and separate from the antigens of the bacillary forms to which the spores give rise on germination. 3°. Antigens of the spores of various kinds of spore-bearing bacilli are also mutually distinct. I am greatly indebted to Miss A.de Groot for her technical assistence.
