The CD34 antigen: Potential clinical advantages of CD34 selection
Clinical Oncology, 1996The availability of monoclonal antibodies directed towards the haemopoietic cell surface antigen CD34 has facilitated accurate measurement, by flow cytometry, of CD34 positive cell frequencies in bone marrow and peripheral blood. In addition, a range of CD34 selection techniques, to purify peripheral blood progenitor cells or bone marrow prior to ...

Expression of CD34-antigen in nasopharyngeal angiofibromas
International Journal of Pediatric Otorhinolaryngology, 1998Formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded and frozen tissues of 24 patients with primary nasopharyngeal angiofibroma, of whom seven had recurrences, were studied immunohistochemically for the expression of CD34 antigen using two different antibodies (HPCA-1 and QBEND 10).

Expression of the CD34 antigen in pleomorphic xanthoastrocytomas
Acta Neuropathologica, 2002Pleomorphic xanthoastrocytoma (PXA) is a rare, superficially located astrocytic glioma of children and young adults, which is associated with a relatively favorable prognosis. Here we report on the expression of the hematopoietic progenitor cell and vascular endothelial cell associated antigen CD34 in PXAs.

The CD34 Antigen: Structure, Biology, and Potential Clinical Applications
Journal of Hematotherapy, 1992The diversity of function of mature circulating blood cells is reflected in their respective complements of cell-surface molecules and receptors. Although monoclonal antibodies have been instrumental in the identification and characterization of many cell-surface molecules on mature hematopoietic cells, the CD34 antigen represents to date, the only ...

The Prognostic Significance of the CD34 Antigen in Acute Myeloid Leukaemia
Leukemia & Lymphoma, 1992The prognostic value of CD34 expression on leukaemic blast cells was assessed in 38 patients with acute myeloid leukaemia. Nineteen patients had more than 10% CD34 positive blast cells. Median survival for the CD34 positive patients was 125 days and for the CD34 negative patients the median survival has not yet been reached at day 575 (p = 0.06).

The expression of the endothelial cell antigen CD34 in demyelinating disease
Neuropathology and Applied Neurobiology, 1996In this study, the antigenic expression of CD34, a 110 kDa glycoprotein which is expressed on human haemopoletic cells and vascular endothelium, has been assessed in variety of neuropathological conditions, including infectious and demyelinating disease.

High-risk neuroblastoma (HR-NB) is branded with hematogenous metastasis, relapses, and dismal long-term survival. Intensification of consolidation therapy with tandem/triple autologous stem cell (SC) rescue (with bone marrow [BM]/peripheral blood [PB] CD34+ selection) after myeloablative chemotherapy has improved long-term survival.

Immunohistochemical investigation of CD34 antigen in male breast carcinoma
Clinical and Experimental Medicine, 2007A total of 30 archival cases of male breast carcinoma were studied immunohistochemically for the expression of CD34 antigen. An obvious CD34 staining was found in three cases. By adding the original CD34-positive case, recently published as unique CD34-stained male breast carcinoma, the number of positive cases comes to four.
