Along‐Strike Seismic Structure of the Andreanof Aleutian Arc Segment and Implications for the Formation of Continental Crust

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Solid Earth, Volume 131, Issue 6, June 2026.
Abstract Crust formed in volcanic arcs is accreted to continents over geologic time, serving as the source material for new continental crust in Earth's present and recent past. Geochemically, arcs are found to be significantly more mafic than bulk continental crust.

Reconstructing the Exhumation and Paleo‐Earthquake History of a Submarine Normal Fault From Preserved Markers at the Seafloor (Roseau Fault, Lesser Antilles, France)

open access: yesGeochemistry, Geophysics, Geosystems, Volume 27, Issue 6, June 2026.
Abstract Assessing seismic and tsunami hazards along coastlines requires understanding past earthquakes and their recurrence along active submarine faults. Subaqueous paleoseismology commonly relies on sediment cores and seismic reflection data, but these methods may be limited by local site conditions or data quality.

Accretionary Prism and Forearc Deformation Driven by the Beata Ridge Indentation in Southern Hispaniola: Insights From the Offshore San Pedro Basin

open access: yesGeochemistry, Geophysics, Geosystems, Volume 27, Issue 6, June 2026.
Abstract The Cretaceous–Eocene island arc of Hispaniola is currently shortened between the Bahamas carbonate platform to the north and the thickened crust of the Caribbean Large Igneous Province (CLIP) to the south. Within this transpressional setting, the 15–22‐km‐thick, ∼100‐km‐wide Beata Ridge (BR), the thickest portion of the CLIP, acts as a ...

Influence of mechanical stress on biomass allocation in three species (Pachira aquatica Aubl., Sextonia rubra (Mez) van der Werff and Simarouba amara Aubl.) with contrasting posture control mechanisms

open access: yesAnnals of Forest Science
Key message The posture control in Pachira aquatica, Sextonia rubra and Simarouba amara is achieved through contrasted mechanisms involving tensile stress in wood only, bark only or both.

Are integrative systematic tools efficient toward unraveling species diversity with the genus Jania (Corallinaceae, Rhodophyta)?

open access: yesJournal of Phycology, Volume 62, Issue 3, Page 781-800, June 2026.
Abstract The articulated genus Jania currently comprises 54 accepted species, making it the fourth most speciose genus among corallines, following Lithophyllum, Amphiroa, and Lithothamnion. Unlike these other genera, Jania is relatively easy to identify at a generic rank. However, morpho‐anatomical characters are insufficiently discriminant for species
