Antimicrobial consumption at a university hospital in Turkey

Excessive antibiotic use is a challenging topic because of the total annual expenditure and the high resistance against antimicrobials in Turkey. A point-prevalence study was performed to evaluate the daily antibiotic consumption and the cost. Data were collected by infectious diseases consultants on 30 January, 2009 and 28 January 2010.

Leaftronics: Bio‐Fractal Scaffolds From Leaf Venation for Low‐Waste Electronics

“Leaftronics” transforms naturally evolved leaf venation into quasi‐fractal scaffolds for sustainable electronics. Polymer‐infiltrated leaf skeletons can be used to fabricate ultra‐smooth, reflow‐ and thin‐film‐compatible decomposable substrates, while making the same lignocellulose networks conducting results in flexible transparent electrodes.
