Predicting Antimicrobial Resistance in the Intensive Care Unit [PDF]
Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is a risk for patients and a burden for the healthcare system. However, AMR assays typically take several days. This study develops predictive models for AMR based on easily available clinical and microbiological predictors, including patient demographics, hospital stay data, diagnoses, clinical features, and ...

Direct Ink Writing of Conductive Hydrogels
This review examines the use of direct ink writing (DIW) for fabricating conductive hydrogels with customizable 3D structures. It outlines the rheological requirements for successful DIW, followed by an exploration of the materials and ink formulations used to impart electronic and/or ionic conductivity to hydrogels while maintaining printability ...

Decoding Microbial Enigmas: Unleashing the Power of Artificial Intelligence in Analyzing Antibiotic-Resistant Pathogens and their Impact on Human Health [PDF]
In this research, medical information from 1200 patients across various hospitals in Iraq was collected over a period of 3 years, from February 3, 2018, to March 5, 2021. The study encompassed several infections, including urinary tract infections, wound infections, tonsillitis, prostatitis, endometritis, endometrial lining infections, burns infections,

Bioresorbable and Wireless Rechargeable Implanted Na‐ion Battery for Temporary Medical Devices
An all‐solid‐state bioresorbable Na‐ion battery is developed, composed entirely of bio‐eliminable materials. In vivo and ex vivo tests confirmed harmless disintegration of this implanted battery. Lifetime of the implanted battery can be precisely controlled by adjusting the dissolvable encapsulation layer's thickness.

Artificial intelligence-driven antimicrobial peptide discovery [PDF]
Antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) emerge as promising agents against antimicrobial resistance, providing an alternative to conventional antibiotics. Artificial intelligence (AI) revolutionized AMP discovery through both discrimination and generation approaches.

Investigating the genomic background of CRISPR-Cas genomes for CRISPR-based antimicrobials [PDF]
CRISPR-Cas systems are an adaptive immunity that protects prokaryotes against foreign genetic elements. Genetic templates acquired during past infection events enable DNA-interacting enzymes to recognize foreign DNA for destruction. Due to the programmability and specificity of these genetic templates, CRISPR-Cas systems are potential alternative ...
