Treatment of Cutaneous Leishmaniasis With Antimony Sodium Gluconate
Leishmaniasis, while uncommon in the United States, is found frequently in other parts of the world. We present a case of cutaneous leishmaniasis and describe diagnosis, clinical and histological characteristics, and treatment. Report of a Case A 45-year-old man vacationed with his wife on the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico in March 1975.

Sodium antimony gluconate, amphotericin, and myocardial damage
resonance venograms were suspicious. Contrast venography with selective cannulation was positive for pelvic-vein thrombosis in one of these cases, for a total of five cases of cryptogenic stroke with venous thrombosis (three men, two women). A substantial proportion of strokes remain cryptogenic after assessment.
