"Sister Chromatid Exchanges and Micronuclei in Lymphocyte of Nurses Handling Antineoplastic Drugs" [PDF]

open access: yesIranian Journal of Public Health, 2001
Individuals handling antineoplastic drugs or their wastes may absorb these potent genotoxic agents. The effects of handling antineoplastic drugs were examined in a group of 24 nurses working in the hematology and oncology departments of two different ...

The Role of TLR4 in the Paclitaxel Effects on Neuronal Growth In Vitro [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Paclitaxel (Pac) is an antitumor agent that is widely used for treatment of solid cancers. While being effective as a chemotherapeutic agent, Pac in high doses is neurotoxic, specifically targeting sensory innervations.

Interplay of integrins and selectins in metastasis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Here we review the role of integrins and their interplay with selectins in metastasis. The efficacy of integrin‐targeted therapies may be reduced in tumors where metastasis relies heavily on selectins. In certain tumors, integrins and selectins exhibit a synergistic interaction during intraperitoneal dissemination.

Clinical Toxicities of Histone Deacetylase Inhibitors

open access: yesPharmaceuticals, 2010
The HDAC inhibitors are a new family of antineoplastic agents. Since the entry of these agents into our therapeutic armamentarium, there has been increasing interest in their use.

Drug–Drug Interactions of 257 Antineoplastic and Supportive Care Agents With 7 Anticoagulants: A Comprehensive Review of Interactions and Mechanisms

open access: yesClinical and Applied Thrombosis/Hemostasis, 2020
Data on drug–drug interactions (DDI) of antineoplastic drugs with anticoagulants is scarce. We aim to evaluate factors associated with DDI of antineoplastic and supportive care drugs with anticoagulants resulting in modification of pharmacokinetics of ...

Cytoxicity and cytostatic drug removal in a membrane bioreactor from wastewater [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
The growing use of antineoplastic drugs in cancer therapy is an emerging issue in environmental research. The presence of the anticancer drug cyclophosphamide (CP) in municipal wastewater raises several environmental problems.

Doxorubicin Selectively Inhibits Brain versus Atrial Natriuretic Peptide Gene Expression in Cultured Neonatal Rat Myocytes [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
Doxorubicin is an antineoplastic agent with significant cardiotoxicity. We examined the effects of this agent on the expression of the natriuretic peptide (NP) genes in cultured neonatal rat atrial myocytes.

On Networks with Active and Passive Agents [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2014
We introduce an active-passive networked multiagent system framework, which consists of agents subject to exogenous inputs (active agents) and agents without any inputs (passive agents), and analyze its convergence using Lyapunov stability.

Chemoresistome mapping in individual breast cancer patients unravels diversity in dynamic transcriptional adaptation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study used longitudinal transcriptomics and gene‐pattern classification to uncover patient‐specific mechanisms of chemotherapy resistance in breast cancer. Findings reveal preexisting drug‐tolerant states in primary tumors and diverse gene rewiring patterns across patients, converging on a few dysregulated functional modules. Despite receiving the

Prescribing pattern and prescription-writing quality of antineoplastic agents in the capital city of a middle-income developing country

open access: yesJournal of Research in Pharmacy Practice, 2018
Objective: Cancer is a global health concern with growing incidence worldwide. Chemotherapy is the main treatment modality in many malignancies. This study aimed at evaluation of antineoplastic prescribing pattern and prescription-writing quality in the ...
