Gradient-index antireflection coatings

Optics Letters, 1983
Thin-film gradient-index profiles have been analyzed and new profiles have been synthesized for broadband antireflection coatings on dielectric surfaces. It is shown that the control of the index gradient as a design parameter can significantly enhance the performance of interference coatings.

Antireflection Spatiotemporal Metamaterials

Laser & Photonics Reviews, 2023
AbstractReflection occurs when light impinges on an interface between two distinct media. Suppression of the reflection is of paramount significance to practical applications in information transfer and conversion. While technologies such as the Brewster effect and material coatings are widely adopted to eliminate the wave reflection from purely ...

Nano‐tailoring the Surface Structure for the Monolithic High‐Performance Antireflection Polymer Film

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, 2010
Nano-tailoring the shape and dimensions of the parabolic antireflective structure predicted by simulation has been successfully carried out to fabricate monolithic high-performance antireflection (AR) polymer films. The average total reflectivity from an

Biomimetic Antireflective Hierarchical Arrays

Langmuir, 2011
We report a simple method for the fabrication of biomimetic antireflective hierarchical arrays based on the combination of self-assembled polymer spheres and nanoimprint lithography (NIL). The hierarchical structures are fabricated by creating nanopillars on the microscale round protrusion arrays, which are similar to natural mosquito eyes consisting ...

Antireflective film of porous silica

Journal of the Optical Society of America A, 2022
We aimed to strengthen the antireflection coating of low refractive index, by using spinodal porous films based on phase separation of sodium borosilicate glass. Coating films were prepared by printing a glass paste onto a silica substrate, and melting at temperatures from 900°C to 1000°C, allowing phase separation at 600°C and finally etching to ...

Optimal broadband antireflective taper

Optics Letters, 2013
We have solved the optimal taper design for minimizing reflection over a broad frequency band for a given tapered length. We believe this work will lead to significant improvement in developing broadband antireflective devices in many areas.

Towards “perfect” antireflection coatings

Optical Interference Coatings, 2001
A perfect antireflection coating would remove the reflection from the interface between two media for all wavelengths and angles of incidence. In this paper the degree to which this can be achieved is investigated numerically, theoretically and experimentally.
