Cucurbit[7]uril‐Styryl Dye Complexes for Fluorescent Recognition of DNA and Cell Imaging

open access: yesChemBioChem, EarlyView.
Recognition properties in solution and in cancer cells: a two dicationic cyanine dyes with different functionalities were developed and studied for their fluorescent properties, cytotoxicity and cellular imaging. The effect of encapsulation was checked using synthetic molecular container of cucurbit[7]uril.

Lipid Metabolism and Immune Function: Chemical Tools for Insights into T‐Cell Biology

open access: yesChemBioChem, EarlyView.
This review explores how lipids regulate immune responses, particularly in T‐cell function. Advances in metabolomics and proteomics provide insights into lipid‐mediated immunity. Fluorescent lipids enable single‐cell analysis of lipid uptake and metabolism.

Lienhwalides: Unique Tropolone–Maleidride Hybrids from Hypoxylon lienhwacheense

open access: yesChemBioChem, EarlyView.
Lienhwalides are novel tropolone–maleidride hybrid molecules unique in nature. Absolute configuration is solved by semisynthetic approaches and X‐ray analysis. Interplay between both lwt and lwm biosynthetic gene clusters is responsible for the production of lienhwalides.

Synthesis of α‐Arylglycosides by Ni‐Photoredox Arylation of Sugars with an Organic Photocatalyst

open access: yesChemCatChem, EarlyView.
Sweet light. A Ni‐photoredox catalytic methodology exploiting a donor‐acceptor cyanoarene allows for the synthesis of C‐aryl glycosides from benzyl protected monosaccharides and aryl bromides. Notably, the α‐C‐aryl glycoside product is preferentially formed with remarkable selectivity (α /β ≥ 10:1 in most cases).

Ammoxidation of Unprotected Glycosides: A One‐Pot Conversion of Alcohols to Nitriles

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
Efficient C5‐selective ammoxidation of minimally protected carbohydrates enables direct access to nitrile sugars, valuable in bioorthogonal chemistry and drug development. Using TEMPO, PIDA, and ammonium acetate in aqueous acetonitrile, this method offers high selectivity without protecting groups.
