One-stop transcatheter aortic valve replacement and fenestrated endovascular aortic aneurysm repair: A case report

open access: yesRadiology Case Reports
The management of patients with severe aortic valve stenosis and an abdominal aortic aneurysm is a real therapeutic challenge. Minimally invasive treatment is more beneficial than open surgery for treating both aortic valve stenosis and abdominal aortic ...

Characterising recovery following abdominal aortic aneurysm repair using cardiopulmonary exercise testing and patient reported outcome measures

open access: yes, 2023
Purpose: Surgery is associated with a post-operative stress response, changes in cardiopulmonary reserve, and metabolic demand. Here recovery after abdominal aortic aneurysm repair is investigated using cardiopulmonary exercise testing and patient ...

Study of Risk Factors and Image Findings of Isolated Abdominal Incidentally Detected Aortic Dissection

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Ultrasound, Volume 53, Issue 3, Page 429-435, March/April 2025.
We detect the risk factors and image characteristics of incidentally detected IAAD. Independent risk factors of IAAD included fatty liver and smoking. In the ultrasound findings of IAAD, an intimal flap was frequently observed. In the CT scan, displacement of intimal calcifications was frequently observed. For suspected IAAD, the abdominal aorta should

HINT1 aggravates aortic aneurysm by targeting ITGA6/FAK axis in vascular smooth muscle cells

open access: yesThe Journal of Clinical Investigation
Aortic aneurysm is a high-risk cardiovascular disease without an effective cure. Vascular smooth muscle cell (VSMC) phenotypic switching is a key step in the pathogenesis of aortic aneurysm.

Sonographic Diagnosis of an Intercostal Artery Pseudoaneurysm: A Case Report and Literature Review

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Ultrasound, EarlyView.
A 63‐year‐old male presented to the emergency department after being found unconscious during a welfare check. Following a prolonged three‐month hospital admission, the patient developed left flank pain. Spectral Doppler ultrasound revealed a large isoechoic lesion with layering echoes, and spectral Doppler demonstrated bidirectional flow.

Disruption of Osteoprotegerin has complex effects on medial destruction and adventitial fibrosis during mouse abdominal aortic aneurysm formation.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2020
Aortic aneurysm refers to dilatation of the aorta due to loss of elasticity and degenerative weakening of its wall. A preventive role for osteoprotegerin (Opg) in the development of abdominal aortic aneurysm has been reported in the CaCl2-induced ...

Is aortic aneurysm preventable? [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Translational Internal Medicine, 2017
Abstract Abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) is a chronic inflammatory condition, triggered by the local accumulation of macrophages, oxidative stress and damage to the aortic wall. Pro-inflammatory eicosanoids seem to play a significant role in AAA.
