Aortic dissection (AD) is accompanied by a decrease in CCDC80 in vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMCs). CCDC80 can interact with JAK2, and VSMC‐specific CCDC80 deficiency accelerates the progression of AD by activating the JAK2/STAT3 pathway involved in regulating the phenotype switching and function of VSMCs.

Abnormal mechanical stretch induced by mechanical ventilation (MV) disrupts endothelial junctions via the NOX2/ROS/CaMKII/ERK1/2 axis both in human aortic endothelial cells (HAECs) in vitro and in ventilator‐induced lung injury (VILI) in mice. Quercetin, an antioxidant predicted to bind to NOX2, can effectively prevent mechanical stretch‐induced ...

Combined transbrachial and transfemoral strategy to deploy an iliac branch endoprosthesis in the setting of a pre-existing endovascular aortic aneurysm repair [PDF]
This article describes brachial access to position a long sheath in the abdominal aorta in conjunction with a large caliber sheath via the femoral artery ipsilateral to the target site to deliver a 0.018 bodyfloss wire.

Genes Associated with Thoracic Aortic Aneurysm and Dissection: 2018 Update and Clinical Implications
Thoracic aortic aneurysms, with an estimated prevalence in the general population of 1%, are potentially lethal, via rupture or dissection. Over the prior two decades, there has been an exponential increase in our understanding of the genetics of ...

This study investigates the critical mechanisms underlying pulmonary hypertension progression, with a focus on the novel role of neutrophil‐derived S100A9 in endothelial dysfunction‐mediated pulmonary vascular remodeling. By integrating human lung samples, multi‐omics analyses, animal models, and mechanistic in vitro studies, it is revealed that how ...

An HDAC9-MALAT1-BRG1 complex mediates smooth muscle dysfunction in thoracic aortic aneurysm
Thoracic aortic aneurysm (TAA) has been associated with mutations affecting members of the TGF-β signaling pathway, or components and regulators of the vascular smooth muscle cell (VSMC) actomyosin cytoskeleton.
