Evolving Features of RASopathies Among Pregnancies With Abnormal Fetal Fluid Collections

open access: yesPrenatal Diagnosis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective We aimed to characterize the fetal features across gestation and describe genotype‐phenotype correlations for pregnancies with fetal RASopathies that were more severely affected as they presented with at least one abnormal fluid collection.

INFLUENCE OF CARDIOVASCULAR RISK FACTORS ON AORTIC WALL MOTION AFTER REPAIR OF TYPE A AORTIC DISSECTION: AN ECG-GATED CT STUDY [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
OBJECTIVES: To evaluate aortic shape changes during cardiac cycle with dynamic computed tomographic angiography at important thoracic aorta anatomic landmarks in patients who previously underwent ascending aorta repair because of type A dissection, and ...

Age‐Dependent Correlation of Pulmonary Function Impairment and Aortic Arch Stiffness in Mice

open access: yesPediatric Discovery, EarlyView.
This study examined the relationship between aortic arch stiffness and lung function in aging mice. Multiple linear regression modeling showed moderate to strong correlations between the rise in aortic arch stiffness and changes in lung function as the mice progressively aged.

Incidental finding of a giant aortic root aneurysm and its repair [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The prevalence of aortic aneurysms is 3-4% in individuals more than 65 years. Age and haemodynamic factors play an important role in the development of aortic aneurysms.

Fluid dynamics of aortic root dilation in Marfan syndrome

open access: yes, 2014
Aortic root dilation and propensity to dissection are typical manifestations of the Marfan Syndrome (MS), a genetic defect leading to the degeneration of the elastic fibres. Dilation affects the structure of the flow and, in turn, altered flow may play a

Sex‐based differences in outcomes between male and female patients with bicuspid aortic stenosis following transcatheter aortic valve replacement: A meta‐analysis

open access: yesPrecision Medical Sciences, EarlyView.
Central illustration: Sex‐based differences in outcomes between male and female patients with bicuspid aortic stenosis following transcatheter aortic valve replacement. Abstract Bicuspid aortic valve (BAV) is a common congenital anomaly leading to early aortic stenosis.

One-stop transcatheter aortic valve replacement and fenestrated endovascular aortic aneurysm repair: A case report

open access: yesRadiology Case Reports
The management of patients with severe aortic valve stenosis and an abdominal aortic aneurysm is a real therapeutic challenge. Minimally invasive treatment is more beneficial than open surgery for treating both aortic valve stenosis and abdominal aortic ...
