Early prediction of multiple organ failure for sepsis patients based on machine learning algorithms
Abstract In recent years, there has been a notable rise in sepsis incidence leading to more multiple organ failure and higher mortality. The lack of effective treatments for sepsis highlights the importance of early prediction in preventing multiple organ failure. This study aimed to develop a model for the early prediction of multiple organ failure in

Performance Optimization System for Hadoop and Spark Frameworks
The optimization of large-scale data sets depends on the technologies and methods used. The MapReduce model, implemented on Apache Hadoop or Spark, allows splitting large data sets into a set of blocks distributed on several machines.

Genetic analysis of primary lung interdigitating dendritic cell sarcomas
Abstract Interdigitating dendritic cell sarcomas (IDCSs) are rare tumors that commonly arise in the hematopoietic system and rarely outside. The genetic drivers of IDCS carcinogenesis are unknown; therefore, therapeutic options are limited. We investigated somatic gene mutations and copy‐number alterations (CNAs) in nine IDCSs arising in the lung by ...

Current Flow Betweenness Centrality with Apache Spark [PDF]
The identification of the most central nodes of a graph is a fundamental task of data analysis. The current flow betweenness is a centrality index which considers how the information flows along all the paths of a graph, not only on the shortest ones. Finding the exact value of the current flow betweenness is computationally expensive for large graphs,

A prediction model was developed for high‐flow nasal oxygen (HFNO) failure in acute hypoxemic patients with COVID‐19 pneumonia using predictors available prior to HFNO initiation. This stable and good‐performing model can assist in clinical decision‐making at a critical point, aiding timely intervention for patients at risk of HFNO failure.
