ABSTRACT Rare earth elements (REEs) play an irreplaceable role in modern technology and industry. However, due to the highly similar physicochemical properties among REEs, their separation remains a significant challenge. Additionally, REEs often exist in low‐concentration solutions, making efficient REE recovery an urgent task.

The melting behavior of hot briquetted iron (HBI) is observed and compared with FactSage computing simulation. When using HBI in an electric arc furnace process, a proper design of intrinsic carbon content in HBI, charging ratio of HBI, and addition of lime are proposed to be essential to control the slag volume, maintain slag basicity, and mitigate ...

Bone's complex hierarchical structure contains many internal interfaces, including the cement line (CL) around osteons. This article shows that the CL is stiffer and harder than surrounding bone but has different mineral–mechanics relationships. These findings challenge the view of the CL as a soft, protective interface and provide insights for ...

In this study, a novel catalytic combustion‐type methane gas sensor was developed using an 11.3 wt.% PdO/20 wt.% Gd10Si6O27/γ‐Al2O3 (PdO/GdSiO/AlO) catalyst. The incorporation of GdSiO as a promoter efficiently supplied active oxygen species to the PdO, thereby enabling methane combustion at low temperatures.
