Large-area APDs and monolithic APD arrays
IEEE Transactions on Nuclear Science, 2001In this paper, development of large-area planar avalanche photodiodes (APDs) and monolithic APD arrays for X-ray and scintillation detection is discussed. Single APDs with areas as large as 10 cm/sup 2/ have been fabricated and tested with a CsI(Tl) scintillator (3.8 cm diameter, 2.5 cm height). The resolution of the 662 keV photopeak has been measured

My goal today is to make an argument that the APDS: is at a crossroads because of unprecedented changes; is in a great position to succeed; seeing the need for change we should nevertheless act consistent with our longstated principles/goals as we negotiate this new path we need to be resolute, bold and brave; the path I hope to convince you of, and ...

Is Adapted APD Theoretically More Efficient than Conventional APD?
Peritoneal Dialysis International: Journal of the International Society for Peritoneal Dialysis, 2017Background A modified version of automated peritoneal dialysis (APD) using not only variable dwell times but also variable fill volumes has been tested against conventional APD (cAPD) with fixed dwell volumes in a randomized controlled clinical study. The results have indicated that the modified schedule for APD, denoted adapted APD (aAPD), can lead to

Planar processed APDs and APD arrays for scintillation detection
1999 IEEE Nuclear Science Symposium. Conference Record. 1999 Nuclear Science Symposium and Medical Imaging Conference (Cat. No.99CH37019), 2003In this paper, performance characteristics of new, planar processed silicon avalanche photodiodes (APD) and arrays are discussed for scintillation spectroscopy as well as direct X-ray detection. We have successfully fabricated large area APDs with sizes ranging from 1 cm/sup 2/ to 13 cm/sup 2/ using a novel planar process.

Comparison of non-scanning laser 3D imaging using Geiger-mode APD array and linear APD or APD array
AOPC 2017: Optical Sensing and Imaging Technology and Applications, 2017Some typical non-scanning 3D imaging systems using Geiger-mode APD array and single-pixel 3D imaging technique are first summarized, respectively; and the performance of two imaging mode is compared to from several aspects such as image resolution, imaging frame rate, and etc.

APD arrays and large-area APDs via a new planar process
Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research Section A: Accelerators, Spectrometers, Detectors and Associated Equipment, 2000Abstract A fabrication process has been developed which allows the beveled-edge-type of avalanche photodiode (APD) to be made without the need for the artful bevel formation steps. This new process, applicable to both APD arrays and to discrete detectors, greatly simplifies manufacture and should lead to significant cost reduction for such ...

APDS panel V—The APDS program director's survival guide
Current Surgery, 1999Abstract The author reviews a number of surgical organizations, their structure, and responsibilities that are of importance to program directors in surgery. This “alphabet soup” includes the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education, the Residency Review Committee for Surgery, the American Board of Medical Specialties, the American Board ...
