There is a significant need for biomaterials with well‐defined stability and bioactivity to support tissue regeneration. In this study, we developed a tunable microgel platform that enables the decoupling of stiffness from porosity, thereby promoting bone regeneration.

An Impedance Model for Angle-Dependent Sound Reflection and Absorption with Diffraction Effects
Traditionally, an open window is considered a kind of reference for perfect sound absorption. The sound reflection and absorption of an aperture is analyzed by means of an impedance model representing a rectangular absorbing surface surrounded by a thin,

Releasing aperture filter constraints [PDF]
Aperture filters are a recently introduced class of nonlinear filters used in image processing. In this paper we present a new approach for aperture filter design, improving operator performance with respect to the MSE measure by releasing some of the ...

Vectorial structure of a hard-edged-diffracted four-petal Gaussian beam in the far field
Based on the vector angular spectrum method and the stationary phase method and the fact that a circular aperture function can be expanded into a finite sum of complex Gaussian functions, the analytical vectorial structure of a four-petal Gaussian beam ...

Multi-aperture imaging with Fermat spiral sub-aperture arrangement
Multi-aperture optical telescopes have been extensively studied owing to their high resolution, low cost, and light weight. The next generation of optical telescopes is predicted to be equipped with dozens or even hundreds of segmented lenses; therefore, it is necessary to optimize the arrangement of the lens array.

Three‐dimensional Antimony Sulfide Based Flat Optics
This work presents the development of a grayscale electron beam lithography (g‐EBL) method for fabricating antimony trisulfide (Sb2S3) nanostructures with customizable 3D profiles. The refractive index of g‐EBL patterned Sb2S3 is determined based on the synergy of genetic algorithm and transfer matrix method.

Design and Simulation of a Frequency-Diverse Aperture for Imaging of Human-Scale Targets
We present the design and simulation of a frequency-diverse aperture for imaging of human-size targets at microwave wavelengths. Predominantly relying on a frequency sweep to produce diverse radiation patterns, the frequency-diverse aperture provides a ...

Distributed aperture synthesis
Distributed aperture synthesis is an exciting technique for recovering high-resolution images from an array of small telescopes. Such a system requires optical field values measured at individual apertures to be phased together so that a single, high-resolution image can be synthesized.

From Waste to Value: Conversion of Calcium Sulfate to Vaterite via Carbon Capture and Storage
This study introduces a new concept for carbon management that relies on the carbonation of industrial gypsum waste and yields phase‐pure vaterite at ambient conditions without any additives. The obtained vaterite is further shown to be a reactive material that develops compressive strength in aqueous suspensions like conventional cements.

A chiral photodetector capable of selectively distinguishing left‐ and right‐handed circularly polarized light is experimentally demonstrated. The device, which features a nanopatterned electrode inverse‐designed by a genetic algorithm within a metal–dielectric–metal nanocavity that incorporates a vacuum‐deposited small‐molecule multilayer, exhibits ...
