Physical and chemical cues influencing the oviposition behaviour of Aphidius ervi

open access: yesEntomologia Experimentalis et Applicata, 2000
AbstractThe oviposition behaviour of the aphid parasitoid Aphidius ervi Haliday is influenced by both chemical and physical cues. Oviposition attack responses were elicited by paint pigments sealed into the tip of a glass capillary tube. Parasitoids reacted to yellow pigments with repeated oviposition attack responses, but they did not react to green ...

LA MODULAZIONE DEI LIVELLI DI GLUTATIONE COME STRATEGIA DI ATTACCO NELLE INTERAZIONI OSPITE-PARASSITA [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Insect studies, dealing with parasitism of aphids, have shown that the disruption of host glutathione (GSH) pool and metabolisms significantly contributes to its physiological regulation and castration.

Y a-t-il élimination d'Eupelmus orientalis Crawford par Eupelmus vuilleti Crawford (Hymenoptera : Eupelmidae) des systèmes de stockage du niébé (Vigna unguiculata Walp) ? [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Niébé is a food leguminous plant cultivated in tropical Africa for its seeds rich in proteins. The main problem setted by its production is the conservation of harvests. In the fields as in the stocks, the seeds are destroyed by pests (bruchids).

Intraguild predation between Macrolophus pygmaeus and Aphidius ervi [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
This work investigates the intraguild predation (IGP) between the predator Macrolophus pygmaeus Rambur (Hemiptera Miridae) and the aphid parasitoid Aphidius ervi Haliday (Hymenoptera Braconidae). In particular, predation on parasitized Acyrthosiphon pisum (Harris) (Hemiptera Aphididae) aphids was studied at two different stages of parasitism.

Rapid Responses of Winter Aphid-Parasitoid Communities to Climate Warming

open access: yesFrontiers in Ecology and Evolution, 2018
Consequences of inter-annual environmental fluctuations, including those associated with climate change, can have a knock-on effect from individual to community scale.

Contribution to the knowledge of Charipinae from Catalonia [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012

Identification of Two Cryptic Species within the Praon abjectum Group (Hymenoptera: Braconidae: Aphidiinae) Using Molecular Markers and Geometric Morphometrics [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
The genus Praon represents a large group of aphid endoparasitoids and is exemplary for the problems encountered in their taxonomy because of a great variability of morphological characters.

Early Olfactory Environment Influences Antennal Sensitivity and Choice of the Host-Plant Complex in a Parasitoid Wasp

open access: yesInsects, 2019
Early experience of olfactory stimuli associated with their host−plant complex (HPC) is an important driver of parasitoid foraging choices, notably leading to host fidelity.
