The effect of one-step or two-step MTA plug and tooth apical width on coronal leakage in open apex teeth

open access: yesIranian Endodontic Journal, 2012
Introduction: Mineral trioxide aggregate (MTA) has been suggested as an effective material for apical barrier, forming an effective seal against bacterial leakage in teeth with open apices.

Comparison of mineral trioxide aggregate and calcium hydroxide for apexification of immature permanent teeth: A systematic review and meta-analysis

open access: yesJournal of the Formosan Medical Association, 2016
Calcium hydroxide and mineral trioxide aggregate (MTA) are used for inducing a calcific barrier at an open tooth root (apexification). The purpose of this study was to compare the efficacy of calcium hydroxide and MTA for apexification of immature ...

Super‐Multiplexed Label‐Free Raman Imaging Uncovers Novel Testicular Metabolic Couplings for Residual Body and Spermatogonial Differentiation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Super‐multiplexed Label‐free Raman Imaging (SLRI) enables 2D/3D metabolic mapping of intact Drosophila testes. Moving beyond descriptive morphology, it establishes a multidimensional tool for tissue metabolic remodeling, and offers a generalizable platform for complex tissue analysis, with implications extending to development and disease. ABSTRACT The

Chapter 23: Climate change and Great Barrier Reef: industries and communities [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Climate change is driving shifts in environmental conditions that, together with other human pressures, are impacting the Great Barrier Reef (GBR). Individuals, communities, and industries in the GBR catchment depend directly or indirectly on the GBR ...

Highly restrictive and directional penetration of the blood cerebral spinal fluid barrier by JCPyV.

open access: yesPLoS Pathogens
The human polyomavirus JCPyV is an opportunistic pathogen that infects greater than 60% of the world's population. The virus establishes a persistent and asymptomatic infection in the urogenital system but can cause a fatal demyelinating disease in ...

An Aggregation‐Induced Polymerization Poly(Disulfide)‐Drug Nanoplatform for Autoimmune Uveitis Therapy via Inhibiting the cGAS‐STING Pathway

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A cationic poly(disulfide)‐drug nanoplatform (LA/DexP) was developed to treat experimental autoimmune uveitis (EAU). With potent blood‐retinal barrier penetrability, LA/DexP releases DSP in response to high ROS and scavenges cfDNA to inhibit the cGAS‐STING signaling pathway.

Dual Lineages of Langerhans Cells Cooperate to Restore the Immune Barrier after Skin Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
After skin injury, the epidermal immune barrier is rebuilt by two sources of Langerhans cells. Resident Langerhans cells first move into the wound during re‐epithelialization, guided by CXCR2 signaling. Later, recruited monocytes become long‐lived Langerhans cells.

Nanoparticle‐Mediated Bubble Suppression During Droplet Solidification for Mechanical Reinforcement

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Nanoparticles mediate droplet solidification by raising nucleation temperature, refining dendrites, and slowing freezing‐front advance, thereby suppressing trapped air bubbles in droplet‐based 3D printing. This strategy reduces bubble volume fraction by ∼35% and increases compressive strength by up to 39%, offering a low‐cost route to stronger printed ...

Wedging Tube Technique For Removing Over-Apex Instrument In Incisor

open access: yesInternational Dental Journal
Introduction: Instrument separation beyond the apical foramen is a rare but challenging complication in root canal treatment. This case presents the successful removal of an over-apex separated instrument using a custom-made wedging tube technique.
