An Optimal and Flexible Approach for Drought Quantification Based on Standardised Indices

International Journal of Climatology, Volume 45, Issue 10, August 2025.
This study proposes a new method to standardise drought indices by using various probability distributions and statistical tests tailored to local conditions. The approach enhances accuracy, comparability and adaptability across different scales, capturing extreme drought events better.
