Isolations of genotype IX (gIX) avian paramyxovirus type 1 (APMV-1) from various bird species have been more common recently, with isolates showing variable pathogenicity in different species of poultry. Here we sequenced the genome of a Muscovy duck origin gIX virus strain XBT14 and characterized the virulence and pathogenicity of this isolate in ...

Abstract Utilizing virus-free materials is one of the most effective strategies for managing plant viruses. Establishing a robust phytosanitary certification program is the primary method to inhibit yield losses caused by the apple mosaic virus (ApMV) in hazelnuts by providing growers with selected propagation materials.

The avian paramyxovirus serotype 1 (APMV-1), also known as Newcastle disease virus (NDV), is responsible for one of the most severe infectious diseases in birds, and is considered as a major economic threat to poultry producers worldwide (Aldous and others 2003). During the 1980s, a pigeon-adapted variant of the APMV-1 (PPMV-1) caused a panzootic that

The effects of apple mosaic ilarvirus (ApMV) on hazelnut (Corylus avellanaL.)
The Journal of Horticultural Science and Biotechnology, 1998SummaryThe effect of apple mosaic ilarvirus (ApMV) on hazelnut cv. Negret was determined by comparisons over seven years of growth, yield and nut characteristics of virus-free trees and trees infected by grafting. Trunk circumference measured every year in winter showed no significant differences in vigour.
