Apocrine adenoma versus apocrine carcinoma [PDF]

open access: possibleJournal of the American Academy of Dermatology, 1980
Two examples of apocrine neoplasm are presented, contrasting the features of an apocrine adenoma with those of a possible apocrine adenocarcinoma. Apocrine adenocarcinoma, distinct from Paget's disease, is a rare neoplasm. Its recognition is complicated by long periods of benign growth and by subtle histologic differences from apocrine adenoma.

Distinct Uroplakin II Staining Pattern in Apocrine Breast Carcinoma

Applied immunohistochemistry & molecular morphology (Print), 2022
Uroplakin II (UPII) has been shown as a highly specific marker of urothelial carcinoma; however, it can also stain subtypes of apocrine-differentiated breast carcinoma.

Apocrine adenocarcinoma of the axilla encapsulated by a fibrous capsule: A resemblance to encapsulated papillary carcinoma of the breast

Journal of dermatology (Print), 2022

Sebaceous Carcinoma With Apocrine Differentiation

The American Journal of Dermatopathology, 2001
A 54-year-old male had a dome-shaped and skin-colored nodule on his nose. Histopathologically, we diagnosed this neoplasm as a low-grade sebaceous carcinoma rather than a sebaceoma based on the scanning magnification and cytology. This low-grade sebaceous carcinoma was associated with glandular structures.

An Unusual Apocrine Carcinoma on the Forehead

The American Journal of Dermatopathology, 2007
We herein report an unusual case of apocrine carcinoma on the forehead. The lesion was formed by the anastomosis of numerous tubular structures with widespread decapitation secretion, thus demonstrating apocrine differentiation. However, we observed some unusual histopathologic features that differed from those found in typical examples of apocrine ...

Primary cutaneous apocrine carcinoma, arising in tubular apocrine adenoma

Journal of Cutaneous Pathology, 2023
AbstractPrimary cutaneous apocrine carcinoma is a rare adnexal tumor that arises from apocrine progenitor cells. These tumors may be associated with benign apocrine hyperplasia, and a longstanding history of a lesion should not preclude a malignant diagnosis.

Axillary apocrine carcinoma with Paget’s disease and apocrine naevus

Clinical and Experimental Dermatology, 2009
Apocrine carcinoma is a rare malignant sweat-gland neoplasm with apocrine differentiation. There have been some reported cases of apocrine carcinoma with apocrine naevus. We report a case of a 78-year-old man with a painless tumour of the left axilla. Positron emission tomography (PET) showed slight fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) uptake in both axillae.

Apocrine Carcinoma of the Axillae

Scandinavian Journal of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, 1989
A case of recurrent apocrine carcinoma of the axilla is presented. Following numerous excisions and exairesis of the regional glands, treatment with Tamoxifen was tried unsuccessfully. Local radiation therapy proved efficient. It is suggested that primary local radiation therapy be used as a supplement to aggressive surgery in the treatment of these ...
