Quantitative proteomics identifies clusterin as a novel biomarker for atherosclerosis
This schematic illustrates the proposed mechanism. In advanced atherosclerotic lesions, upregulated CLU on the cell surface activates low‐density lipoprotein (LDL) receptor‐related protein 1 (LRP1). This interaction triggers the phosphorylation and activation of AKT.

Endogenous expression of apolipoprotein (apo)E in macrophages facilitates cholesterol efflux in the presence and absence of extracellular sterol acceptors. A proteoglycan-associated pool of apoE has also been described.

Objective Identifying modifiable factors influencing amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and frontotemporal dementia (FTD) risk is important for prevention. Blood biomarkers, particularly cholesterol, have been associated with neurodegenerative risk, but findings in ALS are inconsistent, and data on FTD are limited.

Objective Sporadic late‐onset Alzheimer's disease (AD) is characterized by a long pre‐clinical phase where amyloid‐beta (Aβ) and tau begin to accumulate in the brain. The primary objective was to determine the age at which AD starts by finding the average population age when both positron emission tomography (PET) Aβ (Aβ‐PET) and plasma Aβ42/40 become ...

Chronological Diagnostic Algorithm Predicting Neuropathology in Parkinsonism
Objective Pre‐mortem diagnosis of parkinsonism is often challenging due to atypical presentations, overlapping syndromes, and co‐pathologies. This study aimed to develop a machine learning‐based algorithm predicting neuropathology in parkinsonism using chronological clinical presentations, which has previously been underexplored.

Evidence that an
Temporal lobe epilepsy (TLE) is associated with some of the same neuropathological features as those reported for early stages of typical Alzheimer's disease (AD). The APOE ε4 allele is associated with a gene-dose-dependent increase in AD risk and in the

Objective This study aimed to compare positron emission tomography (PET) and plasma‐based temporal modeling of amyloid and tau biomarkers in Alzheimer's disease. Methods Longitudinal amyloid PET (n = 1,097, mean age ± SD = 72.5 ± 7.38 year, 51.4% male), 18F‐flortaucipir tau‐PET (n = 230, 74.3 ± 7.18 year, 52.2% female), and Fujirebio Lumipulse plasma p‐

Apolipoprotein B48 RNA Editing in Chimeric Apolipoprotein EB mRNA
Apolipoprotein (apo) B occurs in two forms, apoB100 (512 kDa) and apoB48 (240 kDa); both are derived from the same gene. A novel mechanism involving editing of the apoB mRNA causes the formation of apoB48; the first base of codon 2153 is changed from cytosine to uracil, converting a glutamine codon to a premature stop codon.

Dietary RSO supplementation improved growth performance, simultaneously enriched n‐3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (n‐3 PUFA), and enhanced antioxidant capacity in Pekin ducks, which suggested that RSO has the potential to be a novel n‐3 PUFA source and an antioxidant for Pekin ducks to generate animal functional foods.
