Human ApoD, an apolipoprotein up-regulated in neurodegenerative diseases, extends lifespan and increases stress resistance in Drosophila [PDF]
Apolipoprotein D (ApoD) expression increases in several neurological disorders and in spinal cord injury. We provide a report of a physiological role for human ApoD (hApoD): Flies overexpressing hApoD are long-lived and protected against stress ...

Abstract US clinical practice guidelines for the diagnostic evaluation of cognitive impairment due to Alzheimer's disease (AD) or AD and related dementias (ADRD) are decades old and aimed at specialists. This evidence‐based guideline was developed to empower all—including primary care—clinicians to implement a structured approach for evaluating a ...

Monoclonal antibody detects Ag polymorphism of apolipoprotein B [PDF]
A monoclonal antibody (MB-19) was used to investigate the polymorphism of apolipoprotein B in a large family and in unrelated subjects. Apolipoprotein B was shown to exhibit high-, intermediate- or low-affinitybinding to this antibody.

Cytotoxicity of lipid-free apolipoprotein B
To investigate the effect of apolipoprotein B (apoB) on cell viability, we used lipid-free apoB as a model for denatured apoB. Lipid-free apoB had cytotoxicity to J774 macrophages, CHO cells and HepG2 cells, whereas apoB bound to low density lipoprotein (LDL) and lipid-free apolipoprotein A-I had no effect on cell viability.

Premenopausal bilateral oophorectomy and Alzheimer's disease imaging biomarkers later in life
Abstract INTRODUCTION Premenopausal bilateral oophorectomy (PBO) before the age of 46 years is associated with an increased risk of dementia. We investigated the long‐term effects of PBO performed before age 50 years on amyloid beta (Aβ), tau, and neurodegeneration imaging biomarkers of Alzheimer's disease (AD).

The present study was aimed at defining the roles of intracellular triglyceride pools in apolipoprotein B secretion from HepG2 cells. Oleic acid (0.2 mmol/L) in the medium stimulated both triglyceride synthesis and apolipoprotein B secretion. Stimulation

A novel, simple coccygeal intervertebral disc degeneration model, using a suturing method for tail‐looping, without the need for external fixation and complex surgery. The model has high reproducibility and stability and overcomes the disadvantages of the existing animal models of disc degeneration.
