Choice and uniformity in weak applicative theories

2005
We are concerned with first order theories of operations, based on combinatory logic and extended with the type W of binary words. The theories include forms of “positive” and “bounded” induction on W and naturally characterize primitive recursive and polytime functions (respectively).

On the application of uniform linear array bearing estimation techniques to uniform circular array

Antennas and Propagation Society Symposium 1991 Digest, 1992
The problem of estimating the directions of arrival of narrowband plane waves impinging on a uniform circular array with M identical sensors uniformly distributed around a circle is considered. Specifically, the authors study a transformed data sequence that is equal to a reordering of the inverse discrete Fourier transform sequence corresponding to ...

Uniform Representation of Product‐Limit Integrals with Applications

Scandinavian Journal of Statistics, 2005
Abstract.  Let X be a d‐variate random vector that is completely observed, and let Y be a random variable that is subject to right censoring and left truncation. For arbitrary functions ϕ we consider expectations of the form E[ϕ(X, Y)], which appear in many statistical problems, and we estimate these expectations by using a product‐limit estimator for ...

Uniform Distribution Theory and Applications

2013
The topics of the workshop were recent progress in the theory of uniform distribution theory (also known as discrepancy theory) and new developments in its applications in analysis, approximation theory, computer science, numerics, pseudo-randomness and stochastic simulation.

A Uniform Methodology for Mobile and Desktop Web Applications

2019
The popularity of mobile applications is high and continues to grow. These applications provide users with numerous services for entertainment, leisure, finance, study, life, and productivity, for example. However, the service providers of mobile applications also provide these services on other platforms, such as desktop-based web browsers. Thus, they
