Bi-Directional Optimality Theory: An Application of Game Theory
Journal of Semantics, 2000Optimality Theory catches on in linguistics, first in phonology, then in syntax, and recently also at the semantics/pragmatics interface. In this paper we point to some parallels between principles employed in optimality theoretic interpretation, and notions from the well-established field of Game Theory.

Game Theory and Fisheries Management
2020This book is the first to present in a systematic manner the application of game theory to fisheries management at both international and national levels. Strategic interaction among fishers and nations exploiting fishery resources is an inescapable fact of life.

Equilibria in symmetric games : theory and applications
2017This article presents a new approach to analyze the equilibrium set of symmetric, differentiable games by separating multiple symmetric equilibria and asymmetric equilibria. This separation allows the investigation of, for example, how various parameter constellations affect the scope for multiple symmetric or asymmetric equilibria, or how the ...

The Application of Gaming Theory in Health Care
Nursing Administration Quarterly, 2015As the US health care system moves rapidly toward a population health management focus in communities and care settings, the chief nursing officer has an opportunity to lead innovation efforts for patient care. One innovative strategy for use to influence patient behavior change, ongoing clinical education, and prelicensure education is the application

In this chapter, the problem of solving infinitely repeated games by means of Nash or sub-Nash equilibria is considered. Using the algebraic form of a logical dynamical system, a strategy with finite memory can be expressed as a logical matrix. The Nash equilibria are then computable, providing Nash solutions to the given game.

Application of Game Theory in the SharingEconomy.
Science and Technology of Engineering, Chemistry and Environmental ProtectionWith the development of the sharing economy, all kinds of sharing services have begun to enter our daily lives, such as shared bikes, shared e-bikes, shared charging banks, and so on. The development of the sharing economy requires the cooperation and restriction of the government, consumers, and providers of shared services.

The aim of this book is to contribute to the philosophy of the theory of games by offering internal as well as external investigations of game theory. The internal investigations were reported in the first three chapters, especially in the discussions in Chapters 2 and 3, and in places made use of heavily technical, logical apparatus.

The Application of Game Theory in RoboCup Soccer Game
Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2014In response to characters of multi-robot systems in RoboCup soccer game and dependence between decisions of robots, multi-robot systems task allocation was analyzed by means of game theory in this paper. Formalized description based on game theory for multi-robot system task allocation was offered, and a game theory based task allocation algorithm for ...

On the applicability of game theory to evolution: A response
Journal of Theoretical Biology, 1981Reijnders (1978) has criticized the application of game theory to evolutionary questions on the basis that we cannot expect organisms to behave as “intuitive statisticians”. He cites many references to demonstrate that Homo sapiens is not an organism capable of evaluating relationships of risk and uncertainty in order to improve its fitness.
