Solvated interaction energy: from small-molecule to antibody drug design

open access: yesFrontiers in Molecular Biosciences, 2023
Scoring functions are ubiquitous in structure-based drug design as an aid to predicting binding modes and estimating binding affinities. Ideally, a scoring function should be broadly applicable, obviating the need to recalibrate and refit its parameters ...

Laser-driven strong magnetostatic fields with applications to charged beam transport and magnetized high energy-density physics [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Powerful laser-plasma processes are explored to generate discharge currents of a few $100\,$kA in coil targets, yielding magnetostatic fields (B-fields) in excess of $0.5\,$kT.

Analysis of the Use of Optical Waves in the World of Health: Literature Study

open access: yesInternational Journal of Multidisciplinary Approach Research and Science, 2023
Waves are vibrations that propagate at any time. Waves are divided into two, namely mechanical waves and electromagnetic waves. In the world of health, what we often encounter are tools whose use is accompanied by one of the physics concepts, namely ...

Thermal radiation dominated heat transfer in nanomechanical silicon nitride drum resonators

open access: yes, 2020
Nanomechanical silicon nitride (SiN) drum resonators are currently employed in various fields of applications that arise from their unprecedented frequency response to physical quantities.

Thermodynamic performance bounds for radiative heat engines

open access: yes, 2023
This paper discusses the performance limits of heat engines exchanging heat radiatively with a hot source while in thermal contact with a cold sink. Starting from solar energy conversion models, we derive power-versus-efficiency upper bounds for both ...

Analytical modeling and interpretation of ultrasound-assisted adsorption mechanism of fuchsine dye on MgZnFeO nanocomposites

open access: yesJournal of Dispersion Science and Technology, 2022
An efficient co-precipitation followed by ultrasonication process is used for the synthesis of trimetallic MgZnFeO nanocomposites (MZFONCs) and further characterized by FE-SEM, FT-IR, XRD, EDX, etc. spectroscopic techniques.

Oscillate Boiling from Electrical Microheaters [PDF]

open access: yesPhys. Rev. Applied 10, 044064 (2018), 2018
Oscillate boiling offers excellent heat transfer at temperatures above the Leidenfrost temperature. Here we realize an electrical microheater with an integrated thermal probe and resolve the thermal cycle during the high-frequency bubble oscillations.

A simple analytical thermal model to solar cavity receivers [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2021
This article presents a closed form analytical solution to estimate solar receiver surface and fluid temperatures. An approximation and its domain of validity (in term of the value of a small parameter) are also proposed. These simple models are then applied to a large and a small cylindrical cavity.
