APPROXIMATE BAYESIAN COMPUTATION, AN INTRODUCTION
2020Approximate Bayesian Computation (ABC) methods have become a “mainstream” statistical technique in the past decade, following the realisation that they were a form of non-parametric inference, and connected as well with the econometric technique of indirect inference.

Approximate Bayesian Computation and MCMC
2004For many complex probability models, computation of likelihoods is either impossible or very time consuming. In this article, we discuss methods for simulating observations from posterior distributions without the use of likelihoods. A rejection approach is illustrated using an example concerning inference in the fossil record.
