Key Frame Extraction for Text Based Video Retrieval Using Maximally Stable Extremal Regions

open access: yesEAI Endorsed Transactions on e-Learning, 2015
This paper presents a new approach for text-based video content retrieval system. The proposed scheme consists of three main processes that are key frame extraction, text localization and keyword matching.

Intelligent Sky Guardians (InSkyGuard): An Aerial Robotic Swarm for Autonomous Detection and Entrapment of Rogue Multirotors

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Intelligent Sky Guardians (InSkyGuard) is introduced as a four‐drone swarm that autonomously detects, tracks, and safely captures rogue drones using a coordinated net system. Computer vision and leader–follower control architecture enable synchronized enclosure, while integrated failsafes enhance system reliability. Validated through closed‐environment

Approximate String Matching with Reduced Alphabet [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
We present a method to speed up approximate string matching by mapping the factual alphabet to a smaller alphabet. We apply the alphabet reduction scheme to a tuned version of the approximate Boyer–Moore algorithm utilizing the Four-Russians technique. Our experiments show that the alphabet reduction makes the algorithm faster.

Intelligent Maintenance Review for Robots: Multimodal Information, Deep Diagnosis and Embodied Artificial Intelligence

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
This review maps the methods to monitor robots’ health by fusing vibration, sound, control signals, vision, force, and oil information with artificial intelligence. It identifies deep learning, transfer learning, digital twins, and physics‐informed models as key methodological pathways enabling earlier diagnosis, safer human–robot collaboration, and ...

Order-Preserving Pattern Matching with Partition

open access: yesMathematics
Order-preserving pattern matching, which considers the relative orders of strings, can be applied to time-series data analysis. To perform a more meaningful analysis of time-series data, approximate criteria for the order-isomorphism are necessary ...

Approximate String Matching with Gaps

open access: yes, 2004
In this paper we consider several new versions of approximate string matching with gaps. The main characteristic of these new versions is the existence of gaps in the matching of a given pattern in a text.

Machine Learning for Green Solvents: Assessment, Selection and Substitution

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Environmental regulations have intensified demand for green solvents, but discovery is limited by Solvent Selection Guides (SSGs) that quantify solvent sustainability. Training a machine learning model on GlaxoSmithKline SSG, a database of sustainability metrics for 10,189 solvents, GreenSolventDB is developed. Integrated with Hansen solubility metrics,

Approximate String Matching by Fuzzy Automata [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
We explain new ways of constructing search algorithms using fuzzy sets and fuzzy automata. This technique can be used to search or match strings in special cases when some pairs of symbols are more similar to each other than the others. This kind of similarity cannot be handled by usual searching algorithms. We present sample situations, which would use

Enhanced Glycolysis‐Driven Histone H3K18 Lactylation Regulates Epileptogenesis by Modulating the E3 Ubiquitin Ligase COP1

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Neuronal PKM2‐driven glycolysis generates excess lactate that triggers histone H3K18 lactylation (H3K18la), establishing a pathogenic metabolic‐epigenetic axis in epilepsy. Elevated H3K18la enriches the Cop1 promoter, transcriptionally upregulating the E3 ubiquitin ligase COP1, which subsequently drives proteasomal degradation of GABAARβ2 and impairs ...

The growth of climate change misinformation in US philanthropy: evidence from natural language processing

open access: yesEnvironmental Research Letters, 2019
Two of the most consequential developments affecting US politics are (1) the growing influence of private philanthropy, and (2) the large-scale production and diffusion of misinformation.
